I am assuming the dealer activated the RMU and you got the app on your phone and it does the same stuff as the keyfob?

To arm the system you have to use the lock button on the keyfob or your app (hitting the door button to lock will not set the alarm) and then wait 20 seconds for it to arm. I have been testing the shock sensor and ended up turning the sensitivity all the way up. A smack on the windshield and the horn chirps once. A harder smack and the alarm goes off with the horn honking and honking. I do not think it is sensitive enough to go off with a door-ding. Test the perimeter alarm (doors opening) by putting the window down, arming the system (wait 20 seconds) then unlock the door with the door switch and open the door, the alarm should go off.

I have not yet figured out how the infrared Interior Theft Sensor works as I cannon trip the alarm by reaching into an open window or even by hiding in the back seat, arming it, and then jumping out and yelling boo! I will post this issue for the Ford IVT rep.

Also, here's the link for the FoMoCo install instructions. They are for all the Ford vehicles so use the bookmarks to skip to the F-150. They are also generic in that they include parts (like the RMST and TPM antennas) that you don't need if you have factory remote start already (a fact which took 5 minutes of arguing with the dealer tech, until I popped the panel and dropped the glove box to show him the TPM antenna is already there.

To adjust the VSS sensitivity, pop off the driver's side IP panel by pulling out on the air vent (see page 92) and then adjust the small knob clockwise (page 94). There is also a VSS test procedure on page 95. You could buy the LED for $15 and install it yourself if you can figure out how the steering column shroud comes off. The LED just plugs into the VSS (page 93).

Yes, I can do all the buttons from my phone, that part appears to be working. I already activated my account and paid the $50. I will have to do some more testing in the morning. I rolled down the driver window, armed it with my fob, waited a minute and then reached in and hit my steering wheel extremely hard several times, nothing, nada, not even a peep. I am going to get that LED. I wish they would of told me that, I would have gladly paid the $15 for it, geez. I had to pay full retail on the two parts so in total it cost me $687 plus the $50 that is paid separately for the subscription.

I would love to look at the install instructions but you didn't provide any links??

Not quite. The prices listed on the website are for the parts. Right below the price, click on the "Get local pricing" and it will add the installation cost. For me, it was $47.50 for each module. Parts $600, install $95, first year service $50.

please dont hit the window to test the shock sensor. the shock sensor was designed to detect impact that affects the frame and chassis of the vehicle. not glass. it is very easy to hit the window and crack it. it has happened many times in this industry. roll the window down and hit the side of the door frame. much safer and the only damage you can do is hurt your hand. if you want to protect the glass, you need the audio sensor. it is a microphone that is tuned to the specific frequency of breaking glass and will trigger the alarm. and on a personal level, i will never use the proximity sensors. they are more trouble than they are worth. to adjust them to be perfect, is impossible. it is a microwave signal, so anywhere it hits metal, the signal stops. this gives you holes in the disturbance field and will be very sensitive in some spots, and not sensitive enough in other spots. it is more important to protect the areas of entry, not so much the area inside. the best way to have an alarm system is to have the doors pinned, the shock sensor, and the glass sensor. (and tailgate in our application) i also added a tilt sensor, but i doubt anyone would try to steal the rims. so no matter what a thief tries to do, it will set off the alarm.

Make sure they activated the security feature of this. My dealer did not and its now going back in. They have to remove a small plug from the one module to activate the security feature and then set the sensitivity. Also you then need to go into your account, I can't remember if its on line or through your phone, I think its online, and check the box for text or email alerts for the security. If you check text it will then ask your number and wireless carrier.
