Hard wired the Homelink mirror. Works.

I read a ton of threads regarding the wiring harness for the rear view mirror, and I guess Ford changes wires every model year because none of the diagrams worked for me.

My mirror had a 16 pin connector with only five wires. The 1 wire is green and is switched 12 volt and the 4 wire is black and is ground.

The other three wires are dark blue, light blue, and brown. I could not find a constant 12v wire.

I guess than in my configuration for 2013, since all I have up there is the auto dimming mirror (no compass, no camera, no map lights), that's all I really needed. The Homelink mirror wanted a constant 12v (I presume to allow the Homelink buttons to work while the ignition is off) but none of the cables had juice once I turned the ignition off. So I wired it to the switched power source and called it a day.

Connected a couple upfitter switches to the pass through wires in preparation for hooking up my new RSiWorks headlights and my new light cannons. Only a couple minor scrapes, working behind the glove box is a major PITA!

Thanks for the help on the ford security system. I had to adjust knob and now it appears to be working. Wolf, would still like to see where you have the LED installed before I start drilling a hole.

The security LED is centered left to right:

But it is in the front 1/3 of the steering column shroud because there is something in the way underneath in the center position front-to-back.

Mark the front portion and then take the shroud off to make sure nothing is in the way underneath before drilling the hole.
