Spent the weekend underneath my truck removing the running boards and cleaning rust off my rockers. 10 years of Northeastern weather and driving on the beach has not been kind but I saved them in time. Anyway the dirty work is finished now I just have to fluid film the shit out of them. And some new gorilla tape.

I’m digging the no running boards I don’t plan on putting them back on. They at least will need to be re coated.
I think you're going to find that the rock chips add up much quicker without the running boards. Nothing wrong with that so long as you are okay with it. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

I've had Icon leafs in my shopping cart this whole holiday weekend, every time I look at it I think "yeah time to send it" but I keep backing off.

I had placed an order for a full Icon Stage 4 earlier this year but had to cancel partially because finances changed, but mostly because I was told [in march] that it would be a few [2 to 3] months, but then in mid April I was told the wait time could be 6 to 8 months, and I'm leaving for a few months and when I come back I'll be looking at moving very soon after. I've been told the turnaround on the Leafs is closer to a month...

I also don't want it to be super rake-y. I dont mind a bit of a rake on the truck but with my winch up front its already a bit exaggerated.

Otherwise funny interaction while out at the beach the other day: Got approached by a guy while at the beach asking if I have a ratchet set, mind you I'm at a beach out here you can drive up on, and I'm like "yeah of course I do whats up?" We walk over to where he was at the beach and he shows me that he sucked rope up into his jetski. We got it fixed and they gave me a few beers which was nice, but the best was the compliment his wife/girlfriend gave me; "Its always the Raptor guys with tool sets, they're better than Jeep guys"

..... he was pulling the jetski with a Jeep.

Yea, without the boards on, especially with bigger tires, you'll find the rock chips add up quickly. I'm glad I have my RPG sliders on, because every time the truck throws a rock I can hear it hit the aluminum skid plates. lol

Thanks I’m guessing you had them off for some time ha but my truck is somewhat retired now and doesn’t go far these days. So not an inconvenience to not have them on

Had to do some maintenance on the jet ski today. I installed race sponsons on it a few weeks back and they're good in the open water but when I take it to the beach they pinch seaweed in between the little creviche that forms. I took them off and prepped them with some new sealant and reinstalled it. Pretty easy job, torque wrench died about halfway thru the reinstall so they're just done up like the germans would do for the time being.

I was feeling froggy and started getting really upset that the media controls on the steering wheel were acting up so I changed those up. Its probably my 2nd or 3rd time doing it. Its insane to me that I've had to do this multiple times, yet my moms on her like 2006 Edge works like a champ.

Got my modified Gen 2 front shocks and some takeoff Gen 2 rear shocks from Mikra. I probably won't get these on for a couple weeks as I still need to order Geisers but I'm excited to see how these perform. Feedback on this solution has been pretty limited so I will definitely report back with my first impressions when I get them on.

Eventually I hope to pair the rears with some Deavers and an RPG bump stop kit.

You can never have too much water camping/off-roading or take to many showers stinky!

As a former submariner, I always encourage people to not be stinky ******* nubs.

And offroading I always have 1 gallon per person per day of water normally, but I usually bump that up to 2 if I'm out in the desert.
