I removed the plastidip from the fender flares and applied 4 coats of spray on raptor bed liner. The plastidip looked good for a little while but was starting to show some wear from a few too many run ins with branches and brush. I decided to do it right and use a bed liner coating. I had done my front bumper with raptor liner and it's held up very well, so I decided to do that same with the fender flares.

- Remove fender flares from truck.

- Pressure wash plastidip off. This was much harder than I thought it would be proving the plastidip actually holds up well if you don't puncture it.

- First coat of raptor liner applied

- Here's what I used

- Four coats later, with about 2 hours dry time between coats I pulled the flares in my garage to keep them dry overnight. They recommend letting it cure for 72 hours, so I just keep them in my garage for 5 days.

It matches my front bumper perfectly, not bad considering it's been months and about 3K miles of driving(with a lot of off-road) since I did that.

Total cost was only about $75 in materials. I went through 4 bottles of the raptor liner and it took me an entire day to apply the liner as the dry time between coats was pretty long. Removal and re-install of the fender flares was very easy with my trim removal tools.
Wow that looks great. I’m in the same boat as my Plasti-dipped flares and bumpers are needing to be redone. I am leaning towards just painting them but you have given me another option. Thanks for sharing.

Dropped some cash with our friends at RockAuto.

Previous owner had changed plugs and all fluids at 100k a few years ago. Which was good. But that was it.

I ordered:
- new coil packs
- plug wires and boots
- serpentine belt, tensioner and pulleys.

Under 7 hundo to my door.

Deciding if I'm going to do it myself or drop it off with my local boys...
Did you go oem on everything?

I bought the Gates premium belts, tensioner and pulleys.

Standard Auto makes a plug wire set that comes with: wires, boots, and resistors. I'll go get a little tube of dielectric grease.

The coils were Densos. Which were half as much as OEM, but are premium, and (I believe) are the OEM supplier.

Wow that looks great. I’m in the same boat as my Plasti-dipped flares and bumpers are needing to be redone. I am leaning towards just painting them but you have given me another option. Thanks for sharing.
I contemplated painting them as well, but I use my truck a bit off-road so I wanted something that could be touched up more easily. There are a few different options out there for spray on liners, but I liked the texture and color of herculiner the best.

Got my motive power bleeder and 1107 adapter.
Tried to fit it on the reservoir and it is a very tight fit. Is the 1107 the adapter that you used on yours?
That’s the one they say to use and yes is it very tight to get on. I think the reservoir has flashing that causes this. A little trimming with a razor blade would sort it out

Thanks, yeah I was looking at the price of the motorcraft coils alone and was getting sick, was hoping you were going to give a cheaper alternative
