Yeah well after 20 times you can do it in your sleep lol! You never noticed the miniature brake shoes in there?! It's inside the rear rotors (the rotor itself is the drum) so if you're just doing pads you wouldn't take em off and see. @Bozz mine were the same way, I actually cracked one of the fronts with a sledge getting it off. Were the parking brake pads swollen or something?

Nope. Worn down a little, but must have been hung up on that lip in back of rotor.

Did the backs today. Lots of cussin'. Hopefully I will never have to do brakes ever again. Took me 3-1/2 days to recover from doing fronts last Thursday.

i have never noticed the ebrake. i just pulled the rotors off and swapped them. just did my brakes 2 weeks ago. i have never seen anything resembling an ebrake there. guess i should look harder next time

That's because you did pads only. The parking break is a drum built into the rotor on these, the shoes are easily visible once you have the rotor off.

Does anyone have any experience in changing out the E-brake shoes. When I swapped out my rear rotors last the original E-brake liners peeled right off their shoes; I hadn't used them in years. A friend who helps me wrench on the truck said there is a certain Ford tool to reach in there and un-clip the shoe springs in order to remove them ?

There very well could be I don't know, mine were intact so I didn't mess with them...

1 upgraded oem transcooler

Didn't need it... But just did it...to spend some $$$$

Question for you fellas... Coolant motorcraft Orange is no longer in production?

Is the replacement Gold or Yellow everyone refers too?

How many gallons is the oem radiator?

It's called a brake spoon, nothing special about it.
If the drum brakes/E-brake made a ridge in the drum section of the rear rotor or the shoe pads were swollen from lots of water and never dried out or adjusted the E-brake cable to tight, then you need to adjust the brake adjuster, it's old school stuff.

Did you have a grommet covering the hole to use the brake spoon?
I ask because mine didn't, that does allow mud and dirt to get in there.

Yellow is the Ford recommendation as a replacement but I will use Gold when I do mine.
I have the Ford Gold in the Supercharger HE to Intercooler system anyway.
