Its an incredible drive. You start surrounded by Saguaro cacti and 35 minutes later you're in the Aspens and Pines. They got 30-40" over the past 2 weeks and probably about 50" this season.

Lance Armstrong used to train for El Tour here because it goes from 2,600ft to 9,000ft and you literally experience 4 climates on this route. Ive done the drive in the summer and its 105° at the bottom and 58° at the top.

I had 1/4 left and I should have filled up. It was stupid of me but I've never had the gauge act like this. When I did pull over a Raptor was just leaving but he didn't have any gas cans. I looked at every Jeep, FJ and lifted truck that passed and no one had any gas cans haha.

This is at the bottom:

I have the RCI transmission skid too but I don’t like how it doesn’t fully protect the passenger side exhaust right after the CAT. I used to have the HeftyWorks one and it did but I smashed the shit out of it in Baja when I went through Matomi so had to replace it. HeftyWorks no longer makes it. I like the ones from KHC or Foutz Motorsports but they only sell them as a full skids plate option.

I always thought Hefty fabworks skid looked amazing and when I finally got around to buying it they said they don't make it anymore. Hefty told me they may make the skids again because they're working on some GEN2 stuff but that was easily 6 months ago. I realized I may need a heftier skid than the stock plastic just a few weeks ago so I looked up the RCI skid and they don't make that in aluminum anymore, and that was my preferred choice.

Added the complete Audison sound system with 10” sub under the seat, passenger side. Full tune and completely stock looking. WOW. What a difference

Limit ******** what is basically stock suspension? Bottom perch with Eibach.

I had gen2 struts on the front so that’s when I put the straps on. Unfortunately the bracket is welded on so I’ll just keep them on there for looks now I guess.

Took a 30 mile drive up the mountain to play in the snow. I had 101 miles to empty when we started and the low gas light came on at 61 miles left which its never done before. It dropped to 36 miles left when we parked the truck. Decided to head back and the gas light turned back off but the miles left dropped under 20 and we still had 16 miles to the station. Decided to pull over at a safe spot and call for a gas can. He showed up 45 mins later and I could not find that stupid little funnel anywhere. My truck didnt come with a jack or the funnel. Had to ask a few people in the parking lot if they had one and got lucky. He put 4 gallons in and it said 122 to empty. Got down the mountain and it said 66 miles left. Pulled up to the gas station and it said 110 miles left. Something going on with the pump in the tank? Only 50K miles on the truck

The range and fuel light aren't reliable. It uses the amount of fuel in the tank with your current driving (habits) and it does a calculation (also it doesn't update very quickly if things change). Pretty good on a flat highway, but if you are going down a steep hill, all the gas will go to the front off the tank and and it will read low... Fuel light on, and no range...
What is reliable is "fuel used" on the trip meter. (Assuming you reset it on a full tank fill-up) My fuel light will come on after using 30 gallons and i will have "0 range" after 32 gallons used. Of course i have a 36 gallon tank so i know in that situation have 4 gallons left and can easily squeak out 50 miles to a gas station if needed.
Also it's a gas truck, so it's not the end of the world to run em out of gas ;)

That was a smart move getting rid of the wrong shock. I personally would of gone with Geisers if I wanted a stock shock. I’ve been running GEN1 3.0’s since I had it less than 6 months new, so don’t remember what stock was like other than rough and had to slow down.
