Today was Tinting the front windows and installing vent visors and giving my baby her first bath.... sat back and looked in amazement at her while smokin a cigar.

I now understand what you guys felt who own a raptor.
Its like having 2 syringes filled with testosterone jabbed into your junk......on prom night

Two things were done to my truck this week...

Got fog lights installed



and got my tailgate stolen at work (if anyone is selling theirs for a reasonable price, let me know)

Pop n Lock. It locks the tail gate when the doors are locked.

Local junk yards/shops are selling these tailgates (step and camera) for $2k

Not much of a laughing matter. The tailgate itself is reasonably priced, but the access plate costs almost as much (about $330) as the tailgate itself. Then add the fasteners, hardware, emblems, top cap, camera, getting it painted, and it's well over $1,000.

Ford tailgates are the most common item stolen. They can be had in about 30 seconds.

Yes, but extra work. The Pop n Lock does it with the remote along with the doors.

I've been locking the tailgate on my truck since I first got one with a tailgate lock back in 2000. After 18 years, I hardly even think about it anymore- it's just muscle memory at this point. Key goes in to unlock before I open it. After it's closed, key goes back in and locks it. If you aren't in the habit though, I'm sure you would forget, and the auto system would be nice. For now, I'll keep mine stock and use the key.
