Where to begin. Spent Saturday torqued what bolts I could, would like to do more. Was shocked how loose the steering rack bolts were, scary. Purchased the red lube and treated all the icon knobs and adjusted them to general off-road. Organized the bed.
Sunday. Drove to the local car wash and rinsed all the dirt off and wash and rinse again, no brush. Vacuumed the interior. Drove home.
Washed now with Adams shampoo and mitts and rinsed with treated soft water. Clayed bar with Adams detail spray and washed and rinsed again then dried. Used Adams Hand Polish and got the whole truck including the decals. Used Adams SVRT on the trim, decals, flares, bed rails, rollx cover, grill, mud flaps and wheel wells. Started using Adams buttery wax and about 3/4 done, went shit!, forgot to use the Adams paint sealant first, ugh. Got the polish out and undid what I did then finished it all up with the Buttery wax. Then got out the Adams patriot wax. Put a coat on and boy this is the first time using this and it goes on like olive oil and trim friendly unlike the buttery wax.
Moved onto the interior with Adams total interior and got everything including the seals and door jams. I have some left over King Ranch leather conditioner and applied that with my bare hands so it all goes into the leather. Grabbed the Adams glass cleaner and got all the windows inside and out. Applied two coats of rain-x and buffed it out. Light mist of distilled water on the inside front and got the haze off.
Back to the outside and applied another coat of the patriot wax. Now to the tires, used Adams washless wash on the wheels as that Adams deep wheel cleaner leaves a film unless you use it when washing (I forgot). Then applied patriot wax to the wheels since I had it out and it did a great job. Then finally the Adams tire shine on the tires and in between all the nubs, moving truck forward to get the part of the tire on the bottom (usually don't do that but shit, been doing this all day)
What really sucked is we have large oak trees and there was a yellow pollen constantly on the truck during all of this. I had to keep wiping that crap off.
And 8 hours later, I finished with the sun going down so drove away from my shaded driveway and took some pictures.
Oh, wife comes out at the end and says, wow this truck is really shiny and then goes on to say why are you cleaning this when we are going to Baja next week and then you are going to that raptor thing (TRR) in a couple more weeks. Geez, honey cause I enjoy cleaning my truck so much! Actually that is a big fat lie, I absolutely hate it. While I was doing this I kept thinking I need to sell all my Adams stuff and just pay someone to do this. Well at least I can step back and look at it all clean and watch the next 3 days of rain bounce off it.
Now time to clean up all the rags and supplies.
Now I found the PICS!!!
Man, that truck looks great! Glad you liked the Patriot Wax. All that sealant and wax on the truck will make it easier to clean all the mud off next time.
Also, since it seems that you may not enjoy this as much as some of us, perhaps you might consider dialing it back a bit next time. Even I would be dead-tired after a hand polish, a coat of sealant and three coats of wax! That's a hard-core detail! Next time, just wash it good and use the H2O Guard & Gloss on everything except the tires, and let that be your typically detail 3-4 times a year.
