I have a hint- On my 2018 the dealer I had the dealer do the first oil change, looked underneath the truck after saw a bolt missing from the front skid plate & nut missing from another skid plate (the one that literally says “do no remove for oil change”)- I told the service Mgr was like “wtf!?! If I keep bringing my truck in for service here pretty soon there won’t be anything left to hold the plates up!!”

they got me a couple baggies of the bolts & nut clamp things lol

I broke the skid plate U-nuts also. There are different sizes BTW so make sure you get the correct ones. These ones are for the large black skid plate.

I think the idea behind these is they’re easier to replace if holes/bolts get stripped out. Don’t use power tools on these and maybe some anti seize is a good idea.

Ace hardware has them in stock and are much stronger. Not sure about the # but just bring your bolt with you. I just went ahead and replaced all over them since I broke 2. not a single problem with the new ones. I agree, the more I work on the truck I find parts that should not be on a vehicle this expensive but also understand that these parts are used across multiple divisions to reduce cost
