Warning: Rear back-up assist is pretty corner-blind

Gonna have to just be a better driver I suppose. Or continue blaming ford on your inattentiveness.

This is, of course, still my fault, but just a reminder that the tech is not a panacea for real-world backing skills and observation.

it looks to me like @lawdog isn’t blaming the truck, just trying to remind us all not to rely on the tech for more than what it is; a driver aid, not a substitute for ‘real world skill’.

yeah, tell me how great those ultimate driving machines are after some mysterious electrical gremlin strands you on the side of the road in east BFE and their infamous roadside assistance strands you too.

The Germans take a hit on the reliability reputation... but most of that is from the 2000-2010 range.

They take the risk with advanced technologies way ahead of other manufacturers and sometimes it results in a “code” or “limp mode” experience for owners.

If they didn’t push the envelope with performance, luxury, and tech, then Ford couldn’t offer these great 2009 level backup cameras and sensors for us to complain about.

I think I’ll take the car that will get me there and back with a mirror and adequate camera than one that will simply get me there and a 4K backup camera.
