I guess I'm lucky, my rear defrost doesnt work. It started out with intermittant operation when new, then less and less reliable, then it doesnt work at all. Dealership looked at it last week, said they cleaned (the already cleaned) contacts. Picked it up, not working. The thing that bugs me about it is that the heated mirror is on the same circuit and if the rear defrost doesnt work, neither do the mirrors.
Yeah, if the sliding rear window isn't closed all of the way, nothing works. I bet your element is okay, its just the end switch in the window.

I want to look into this further, Scrap man. Send me a PM with your details and I'll get to work. In your message, include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership.

What's the mileage on your Raptor, knine? Let's see what I can do to help.

Thanks for the offer, but I dont know what else can be done. I took it in for repair, it doesn't work after they said it did. It DID start working the next day when I checked it a couple of times, but then it stopped and hasn't worked since. The truck is a 2012 and has just over 36K on it, and I have the extended warranty. It has had intermittant operation since day one, only getting worse until it gave up the ghost.

I'm happy to escalate this to your regional customer service manager (CSM), knine; to proceed, just send me a PM with your details. I'll need your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. I know your CSM will want to do all they can to help.

New member of the shattered rear window club

So I remote started my truck this morning like I usually do since it was 40 degrees and when I got into the truck just as I was getting ready to back out of my driveway I heard a loud pop and after looking around noticed that my rear window was shattered. I figured ok this sucks but I'm still under the factory warranty so no big deal. I call the stealership and explained what happened hoping they would order a window and I could just bring it in when the received it. Wrong. The service guy tells me no glass is covered under warranty and that they weren't aware of any issues with the rear windows in our truck and that my best bet would be to go through my insurance. I was completely dumbfounded considering just a quick Google search turns up at least 100 people having this problem besides the many members here. Needless to say I'm on my way there now to have a conversation in person and figure out how much of an ******* I'm going to need to be.
