Hi cbcgeneral,

I definitely want to jump in here and see what I can do to help out. How many miles are on your Raptor?

Hi 2014RubyRed,

I don't have access to our engineering folks, but if you have questions about any known issues or service bulletins, you can always give your local Ford Dealership's service department a call.

Crystal

Hi Crystal I sent you a PM with all my info and the info on my truck. Thanks I appreciate you looking into it.

Thanks Crystal. I'm sure, like most dealerships, that mine isn't aware of any corrective actions regarding this issue. I just feel like if Ford keeps fixing these things and people keep having issues with them, that maybe they would address it and fix it. Wishful thinking and hoping that it doesn't happen to mine......

Ya well one thing I forgot to mention was that Ford replaced this rear window about 2 months(3K miles) ago because the slider stopped working. Originally I thought they just replaced the switch but when I was at the dealership earlier the service manager said the window was replaced. You would figure they'd replace them with an upgraded version when they had the chance. Lol silly me sorry what was I thinking. I'm not trying to bash anyone because I know things happen but what baffles me is the fact of the entire service department claiming they've never heard of this issue and I'm the first customer to bring it to there attention. I saw post on Google going back to 2010 Platinum owners with video of it happening. So there is no way this is a surprise and it's without a doubt something Ford should have addressed by now considering the price of these trucks and the other high end trucks that have the rear defroster option. Ok rant over sorry.

Ford knew about this problem before making the upgrades to the 2013-2014 models so its complete BS they didn't address this issue...

This could be an extreme exaggeration, but what scares me is how we use these trucks in extreme conditions and remote areas. What happens when someone has a window blow out while they're stranded in the cold for a night? Hell with the 3ft+ snowfalls we have seen in recent years that could happen to a soccer mom heading home with her kids.

Hey CBC, diid your slider gradually start slowing down before it finally quit? That's where I am now- takes about 30 seconds to close all the way and I'm reluctant to use it now for fear of it finally stopping altogether.

Yes. Then it wouldn't open at all for a couple of weeks then it started working for two days and then it just died completely. They fixed that issue without a problem.

It's disappointing that Ford's warranty process is becoming such a joke. I've had a couple things that had to be addressed on both my Raptor's and it was a true PITA every time. You have to argue about everything, and every time a photo has to be submitted it's instantly denied.

It might be a good idea to mention the slider to your dealer now, Madcowranch. How many miles are on your Raptor these days?

Just left Ford and they are submitting it through the warranty and will let me know what they say in 24 hours. I went in and talked to the finance manager who knows me since I've bought over 30 trucks from him for my company and him and I sat down with the service manager to get him to submit it. He said that I should have told him who I was when I called. Lol ok. I told him I appreciate that but it shouldn't matter if I bought one vehicle or 50 from them the service should be the same. I think they're butt hurt because I didn't buy any of my Raptors from them lol. Hopefully Ford approves it without any issues. I let you guys know what happens. I'm thinking of shattering the other two windows so they all match until it replaced because it's irking me that it looks unsymmetrical lol. ******* OCD.

This is total ********. I can't believe he would say something like this to a customer. So his level of service depends on who he thinks deserves his time. I understand what he's trying to say, but what an *******.

That's exactly my thoughts. I'm figuring he was either comfortable saying something like that to me because of our numerous dealings or he was just trying to make himself look like a big shot in front of the service manager but either way they shouldn't have blown a customer off over the phone basically saying tuff shit call your insurance company. I'm confident that they'll take care of it and everything will work out but I just wish Ford would finally take care of the issue so that all of us can actually have frost free rear windows without worrying about being shot in the back of the head with shattered glass lol. I will admit that it did scare the shit out of me, that shit sounded like a gunshot when it popped lol.

Go see a psychologist and get him to say you're traumatized or some shit. That could be worth millions!!!

Then call me with that lighting order.........:ROFLJest:
