Hey CBC, diid your slider gradually start slowing down before it finally quit? That's where I am now- takes about 30 seconds to close all the way and I'm reluctant to use it now for fear of it finally stopping altogether.

Mine started slowing down the last few inches during the closing process.. Ford initially told me it was the non factory tint (which I did not have it tinted, it was factory privacy glass). Once they realized it wasn't tinted, and the window slider stopped working, they replaced it.

So, I'm on my 2nd rear slider and 3rd sun roof.. Haha.

For the guys having issues with their sliders and sunroofs, be sure to keep the tracks lubricated. I use this about once or twice a year to keep everything moving and it doesn't attract dirt/dust.

Does not keeping them lubed also cause them to spontaneously combust? Just curious because that's probably the next excuse Ford will give me not to cover it. Or maybe since I clean my truck often the window was too clean which caused it to explode lol.

That's funny, not only do they not know their rear windows have a tendency to explode they also don't realize that they're sold with tinted rear windows. What a bunch of dipshits. Lol.

Off topic but dealerships in general are pretty clueless. I went in to my dealership that I no longer go to have them balance my tires because of vibration when it was less than 6 months old and they said they couldn't do it under warranty because of my aftermarket wheels. I had the Ford factory SVT SE beadlock wheels. The service advisor brought out the tech who confirmed they were aftermarket and then I had to argue with these idiots and prove on the Ford website that these were factory. Needless to say, after they agreed they were stock, they ended up charging me anyways because they then blamed it on taking it off-road. Hence why I said no longer go to....

At this rate, you may get a "if you don't use it, you lose it" excuse :ROFLJest:

That's pretty bad. Any Ford employee that deals with customers about the different vehicles that Ford offers should really be required to do some sort of training whether it be classes or just a computer course to familiarize themselves with the different products and options on various vehicles. I know Raptors are more of a specialty vehicle but some of the totally wrong info I hear and that have been said to me by techs and service people is ridiculous. When I bought my first Roush truck I was at the dealership picking up my second key they forgot to give me and one of the techs walked by and asked me where I bought the shocks and if I installed them myself. He insisted I was bullshitting him that it came like that until the service rep came over to hand me my key and he asked him. Needless to say I've never even thought about taking my truck there for service lol.

I would agree that the dealerships are pretty clueless themselves, but the window tint thought in my case came from Ford after the required pictures were sent in.. They said they couldn't see the Genuine Ford marking on the sider so it must be tinted.. Haha

I did have tinted windows when my first slider was replaced due to the defrosted grid not working. I took the pictures of the Ford logo.

When that one was replaced, for the same reason, the tech dented the back of my cab. I assume he prayed against it when removing the old window.

I believe glass is covered 100% by insurance here in MA. So once the warranty is up, if the slider or deforster grid ***** the bed, it's getting smashed with a sledge hammer.

I'll have the wife pick up a few cans of this to try out. Thanks Nick, I'll let you know how it works.:hump:

I can have it replaced through my insurance for my $100 comprehensive coverage detectable without an issue. Paying the deductible for my insurance is nothing really I spend more than that a week on energy drinks so now it's a matter of principle and I plan on fighting this with everything I have just to make a point. It just blows my ******* mind that Ford absolutely knows about this issue even though they pretend they don't. And it's not like it's only Raptors that have this problem, its all their higher end trucks with the rear defroster so that's a pretty big number trucks for them to pretend it's not an issue.

Ok here's an update for everyone. The dealership just called me and thanks to Crystal calling the regional customer service manager and having her call the dealership they have decided to cover a new rear window under my warranty. He placed the order today and is hoping to have it installed on Monday. I'm pretty happy that Ford stepped up and also for the fact that we have an awesome Ford representative on this forum in Crystal @FordService that listens to our whinny cry baby asses and does what she can to help us out.
