That would not be correct!
The Volant increases the diameter of the opening to the fender well.
The BD system compensates for the OEM restrictive opening by having an additional opening to the engine compartment (hot air)
The new Volant adds an additional opening that takes air from the front of the radiator (cold air)
And the Donaldson filter is unbeatable!

it doesnt matter how much bigger the hole is on the fender since you can only draw so much air through the MAF. Only way to draw more air is to increase the size of the MAF and TB.
It is nice that you also have the opening in front also but, I draw all my cold air from the SVT vent
Ya the donaldson filter is great...
Eh, I just noticed that the BD top has a opening that draws air from the front of the stock air box. Change my thoughts now. Only I would use this is if I plugged up that hole to stop it from drawing underhood air... I take it all back... Sorry I didnt see that at first...

Pretty much this 2011 Raptor 6.2L with Volant CAI - YouTube

But I would say its even deeper now with the new system. Where you use to hear that boost sucking air noise around 1-2k rpm with the stock/other intakes now has a deep BAAWWWW growl for a bit around that RPM range. Pretty sweet. Makes me tingle sometimes if things are loose around the cab haha.

To add to this:
Without forced induction all we have available is 14.7psi (1bar) at sea level.
Anything between that and the combustion chamber represents a pressure drop; therefore, anything in front of the throttel body needs to be significantly larger to get that 14.7psi to it...

You guys know the MAF sensor is just a sensor right? I'm not sure I understand the logic that it restricts how much air can pass through it when all it does is tell the computer the flow rate of the air.
