I personally don't care for the look or beam patterns of the rigid 360 series. 60° is too wide IMO for a driving light and 17° isn't tight enough for a spot light. I'm sure they are ok lights but I don't think they stack up to BD or vision x.
When you went from the gen 1 vision x single light cannon to the CG2 multi led, did you lose quite a bit of distance?
Yeah, I am not really feeling the 360 series. I side of me wants to like them but I just think Rigid products are tacky. A lot of their stuff they came out with in recent years seems tacky. Especially the Radiance light bars with the light up logos on each end. I was fond of Rigid before the sold themselves off.
So, when it comes to VisionX. I did lose distance going from the 25w gen1 single source LED compared to the 49w gen2 multi LED. The distance is there with the 25w but since I had the lights low to the ground, it was hard to angle the light onto the roadway down the trail where I needed it.
For my mounting application, the mult LED cannon in my bumper is a far superior option at functionality. I tried the snap on covers but I they covered that beautiful optic and I hated the look.
Following photos are 2 of the 25w single VX cannon:
Mountain peak is 1,000’ away:
Great product and performed as advertised.
Buuuuut, I switched them out to the VX CG2 cannons:
One issue, due to them being recessed in my bumper, it blocks a considerable amount of peripheral flood.
Flat desert. iPhone does a so-so job capturing the effect. 2 CG2 lights.
Better photo. Only two VG CG2 cannons on in below ( and above) photo.
Both are completely different lights! I like them both. That is why I am on the fence with VX vs BD.
I think the 6’7” ADV would put out more light than the LP4. Probably cheaper to buy too. However, I think the amber back light of the LP4 and the side peripheral lighting eeks it out in front. Super excited about the LP4. Just waiting for price at this point.
