I feel bad for you and ultimately you have to do what's best for you and if this situation is making you mental, walking away may be the best course.
I would however suggest you speak candidly with the owner of your dealership and ensure he/she understands fully the depth of your frustration and the fact they are on the precipice of losing a $50k sale. I have found great luck in certified letters mailed in duplicate to very high level positions as well. Explore all options and make sure people up the food chain are in the know about how F'd up the service is there.
It's amazing how "motivated" someone becomes when the right person calls down and chews some a$$.
Hang in there brother.

Not mental, just dissapointed. The Dealer GM is a friend but has been out of country on vacation for several weeks. Owner has been unavailable too. Like I said before, I wanted this for the winter and I figured that ordering it soon enough I would have it by late December or early January. It frosts my nuts to see guys that placed their order 5 minutes ago get delivery tomorrow (not their fault, hurray for them, I'm pissed at Ford and how they treat a first time new customer). Ford's order pick system needs overhaul and their "regional reps" need an ethics lesson.
The local dealership is not the problem, all they can do at this point is place the order and shake the bushes which they have done. They have been very patient and supportive. But in the end, I wanted a reliable truck for the winter and I have that now with the money I dumped in the 200K mileage Durango because of the unreliableness of this system. I've now decided that if they dont pull the order by Dec 23rd (16 weeks after it being placed-4 months) I am cancelling the order and moving on.
If there was a system wide problem, like last summer with no NAV available, I would understand (would you believe I've had 2 people at Ford try to sell the "option availability may affect order status" shit? Then when I ask if there are ANY material holds, they say "no".). But there is absolutely no reason for the lies I've been fed from the regional rep (it will be built in January, I bumped another order, but no date of build, no vin and the order still lists as "being processed") and the horrible "blow-it-off" attitude I've gotten from Ford when others report success with the same routes I've tried.
As for the owner and the GM, yes I will keep them in the loop as it's not their fault. The owner has a Dodge dealership and I'm looking at their offerings now.
edit: Bird, can we change the name of this thread to "Leg's pulled"---as in "pulling your leg"
