I would go the 6.6 route.

Now I need to take advantage of this Arizona rain and find a few water puddles...

I had a similar experience in my 04 z71 when I hit what I thought was a shallow ditch that was actually a six foot deep ditch. Was going about 30, full throttle and the cai sucked a whole bunch of water up. Bent four rods, which I would venture to guess Is why your engine is knocking. Because yours is still running you may actually be able to get a machine shop to tear it down, replace the bent rod(s), and be on your way. Shoot me a pm, I built racing engines before I joined the Army and depending on where you live may be able to find an old buddy that can help you out.

I'm sorry to hear that. Which one of the rubber guards was torn? If you can source that to the problem and prove it to Ford and prove that the guard tore on its own and it wasnt your fault, they should cover some of it. Jeez 12k... Go a livernois 6.6 stroker motor. Turn that thing into a beast.

Whats the manual say for speed in 30" of water. As long as you were in the confines of the manual it should be covered under warranty. I would make sure I was within the ratings lol

I agree with 2004boss, this problem should be covered unless you're outside of the power train warranty. You may need to talk with a regional service representative? Don't give up...escalate!

Insurances ended up paying, yay, it was up to being about 15000 total repair cost.
Will use that "saved money" to buy upgrades and a side by side :p
