What supercharger was on it? Pro charger or roush? That's a lot of flames for just a detonation from a lean mix. I also think it looks like a fuel leak or line misplaced or leaking ignited. Good luck and glad all were safe.

goin ******* on ur ass
I've been a volunteer firefighter for about ten years. Most of the car fires that I've responded to have involved turbocharged engines, typically factory turbos, not aftermarket ones. The reasons are simple. The turbo compresses air, so the engine can burn more fuel (produce more power). That means that the fuel pump and injection system are higher capacity. Because it's compressing air, the turbo(s) get hot. Heat cycles can loosen compression fittings. They get hot enough to ignite gasoline. Combine a hot turbo with a leak in a high-flow fuel injection system, and you get an intense fire.

I am NOT saying that happened here. That will take an examination of the remains by someone who knows what he is doing. I am saying that's the most common cause of car fires that I've dealt with as a fireman — fuel leaks in turbocharged vehicles.

On the deisel big rig I drive the intake side of the turbo had a oil seal go bad, it was pumping oil into the charge air cooler. If I had kept running it it could have "Run away" meaning engine would have revved up burning all the oil out of engine till it blew up. A little different but an older turbo could do the same

Well I've read all the posts and everybody covered all the things I wanted to say!

So did any one bring any marsh mellows! Lets boil it down a bit.

Oman, Imported, Hennessy, Raptor, I think your Friend will be fine. His banking account is way bigger than mine!

unfortunately we dont have offroad insurance , only and strictly on road...

Use the old racer's trick.

Tow it to a road.

fuel leak.

This is exactly what i would pin it on with out seeing anything.

1. Large hill.
2. Under load.
3. New off the boat truck fresh out of an install.
4. Smoke/flames under hood first.

just smells like an improperly installed fuel system after a supercharger install to me.

Sorry for your friend's loss I hope he is fully insured.
I dont think it has anything to do with the modification because i am from Oman as well & i have 2011 raptor which i bought in Nov-11 and without any modification but with a broken engine!!!
So just advise everyone to stay away from this fake truck and move to GMC or Chevy.
