Every product has nay-Sayers... Some guys even say a Cold Air Intake will ruin your truck, and that you're stupid... Haha

Sorry for your loss.

I had an engine fire in my RX-7 from a factory fault in a fuel pulsation dampener. I stopped right when I saw smoke and was lucky enough to put it out with a little snow on the side of the road. I still love my little wankle = )

Most car events require fire extinguishers. Specially when snow isn't handy. I hate learning from personal experience but those are lessons I'll never forget = )

I heard about this from another raptor owner here in oman last year, unfortunate, but then I am surprised more dont go pop when you see how they treat a vehicle out in the middle east. its not a car for a few years but an expendable toy to beat the crap out of until it dies, and when it does, just pop out and buy another.
I take mine into the wadis regularly and never see any issues- but the desert in 45 plus heat with no cool air whatsoever....its a recipe for a disaster. Then off course you could add a supercharger and really make things knife edged....pop in a few ounces of crappy workmanship and little or no local tuner support and there you go - dead raptor, or any car for that matter
