I hope that the new engine will be better because i bought the Raptor after using a normal F-150 (5.4L) for the last 6 years without a single problem. Never the less, i can not help the discomfort and disapointment that I feel
Excuse me guys

I have the same feeling about my Cadillac, but now we are at over 90k miles (145000 km). . I see these trucks for sale all the time with 145000 km, it is a good, well built truck, and given a little more time, you will see that. You just happened to get one of the few "troublesome ones".

The Raptor that this thread is about most definitely was due to the supercharger or the install by the aftermarket company.

here, on frf
that truck fire is most likely related to shoddy aftermarket work, not the truck itself. if you dont like it, try using that gm you think so highly of. i work on cars for a living, my job requires that i disassemble them on a frequent basis. i have taken apart more vehicles than i can remember (im guessing about 6000) each manufacturer has their own problems for example, bmw and mercedes have always had cd changer problems and their older cars interior becomes brittle, gm and vw had seat heater problems (if you want to talk about a fire) that would burn a hole in the seat. vw who owns bugatti and lamborghini and others as well, had airbag problems. want one of those going off while doing 65? ford and honda have had door lock issues, etc, etc.... i can go on and on about which manufactures have what problems. to say that you had 1 bad experience with the raptor ( this fire doesnt count because of aftermarket work) doesnt mean its a bad truck. it means that your particular truck had an issue. and to find another vehicle that is as offroad ready like the raptor, is not going to happen. you can mod any vehicle to become an offroader, but how much are you planning to spend?

dont join here just to say that the raptor sucks. i think you are a bit premature on your judgement. before you decide to talk negative about the truck any further i would suggest that you try your gm and see how that goes, or wait until you have had the truck longer. see what a new engine does for you and go from there. everyone here is cool and laid back and will be willing to answer any questions and give you feedback if you ask, however joining this forum and having your first post be bashing the truck, is not going to make any friends and will make others think of you negatively.

i dont want to sound like im preaching to you, but know as many facts as possible before posting comments like that.

This is a blow to be honest for supercharged Raptors... Myself was thinking to install a whipple after I just installed my Livernoise Camshaft kit; but now Im even worried about my cams may go in flames :( :emotions122:

No, it's just another example of why not to do business with Henn...
They have a rather shady reputation.

but shit does happen. Need more details.

Electrical fire ? blown fuel hose ? improperly secured fuel connection ?
From what was described it sounds like a fuel leak. 60mins of driving, in flames in seconds = fuel.

A miss tuned engine will not catch fire. It just breaks into lots of little pieces.

This is the result a a slightly loose fuel line. This was a friend of a friend's can that he was just getting tuned in. It was only his 3rd pass since he built it when he started the engine and **** up it went! It was a total loss all from 1 little loose fitting.

I wouldn't let Hennessey touch anything I own or touch anything they've modded. Too many negative things have happened in that shop for me. All you have to do is google their shop and read of some of their dealings. Another reason I do my own wrenching!
Hopefully your friend can get made whole again.

When it was at 0 mileage nothing was wrong with it. I took it to the dealer for service at 10k km and nothing was wrong with it. then i took again for service at 20k km and everything was fine until it reached 24k km and as of a sudden a knocking noise starts to be heared in the engine. I called the dealer and then told me to bring it over and on the way to the dealer the engine got broken. No overheating, no abnormal oil pressure and above all of this no modifciation on the engine what so ever.
So what do you call this truck i wish someone will tell me that the Raptor is a reliable truck.
By the way i am not saying that this is not a Raptor Forum but i hope it is not a forume which is make to sell more Raptors!!!
We are Raptor owners who are suffereing from Raptor problems and when we say it sucks that means it sucks because we proved it to everyone else.
I have the pictures of my Raptor engine if you anyone want to have a look.
I am lucky because i still have 35k km of the warrenty on my Raptor and managed to get a new engine shipped from Ford but honestly i dont trust this vehicle anymore.
What i think will happen now in Oman after this fire accident everyone will try to avoid buying Raptor because no one wants to pour his money down the drain.
I am very sorry to say that i am a Raptor owner and not proud that i wasted 27k Omani Rials on such a junk

Let me get this straight...Ford is sending you a new engine at no cost to you? I don't know the protocol but I would think Ford could deny any warranty claim on a Raptor outside the North America, since they don't offer them anywhere else. Regardless, you got a bad deal. Ford is making it right, to the best of their ability. For me, when I buy things, it's not about whether or not the product has an issue but how the company that sold it to me handles the situation when there is an issue. I'd be upset that my truck broke but at least you are getting it fixed for free.

Unfortunately for the owner of the truck in the original post Ford, most likely, has nothing to do with the reason the truck started on fire so the owner most likely won't be getting a free truck from Ford..
