So as someone isn't versed in oils, lubrications, or the finer details of engine preventative maintenance, I'm guessing I'm relatively safe with the following SOP:

5,000 mile intervals AMSOIL Signature 5W-30 and OEM Oil Filter? Most of this debate seems far more nuanced than may be beneficial for the average owner and really digging into the minutiae so looking for a dumbed down answer.

For anyone reading this thread getting confused and just want the 'WTF should I do' short version...

1. Use quality full synthetic oil - don't use blend IDGAF what the manual says
2. Use a quality filter - OEM FL500 is fine
3. Change the oil every 5k miles if you want the motor to last a long while

Yea, but you could save a lot of money running Walmart Supertech instead.

Amsoil is great oil, but $15+ a qt oil is not needed for any production engine.

If I am dumping it every 5K miles, I'm not using running $15+ a quart oil.

If I have money to burn, I don't spend it on high end motor oils.

I prefer to spend it on tangible things that last.
