I've always used the MirrorMount on other vehicles. But ya it depends on what type of mirror you have. Never used Blendmount before

Heres a clear shot out of the back window. As you can see I dont have the tech package. I thought there was a few guys on here that did and didnt have issues.

40+ minute video holy shit. That's like a lecture class. I've always had V1's. in cali and Arizona and Ka and Laser seem to be the only bands you need. I like how the V1's look and they work great so I've never changed it up. They are quite chatty though even in super logic mode which still has K band

Go to Valentine One's website and look into upgrading your V1. Those who talk about how it's not as good as the ****** are basing that on old V1 units. They've improved the V1 a lot and they offer an upgrade program for those who have older models.

I used these
https://blendmount.com/mirrortap.html

Found the correct pins to tap from some pioneers back in this post. Look at #74-78 They had the tech package mirror. Same pins work on my non tech mirror. As always, you should verify with a DVM.

I really want to get a V1 but I am having a hard time justifying the cost over just using Waze. For the most part, Waze is pretty accurate in my area but you can never be too aware.

That's one of many reasons why I chose the V1 over the ******.

You can use Waze with the V1. Trust me the V1 is much better than a free app. I know the price is a bit steep but it pays for itself when you have it for 10 plus years.

If you can count on Waze to save you from tickets more power to you.

I've used Waze a lot and, driving on the interstates/freeways, I would NEVER depend on Waze alone to save me from getting tickets. There are thousands of miles of highways where there aren't many people driving (less populated areas) and far fewer Wazers in those areas. And night-time driving - forget about Wazers seeing cops.

My V1 has paid for itself many, many times over. Each ticket here in CA will likely cost at least as much as ONE Valentine 1 purchase (ticket plus increased insurance will easily exceed $400).

Enjoy Waze. I use it to see why traffic sucks. My V1 protects me from getting tickets. :mwah1:

V1 all day every day. Crazy how far it can pick up radar out here in the flats. I have had it pick up a legit KA band over 2 miles away over a small hill. When it picks up ka or laser I'm on the brakes.

What you stated is exactly why I keep thinking about getting a V1. I think I'm just going to go for it especially since I plan on making some longer trips later this summer/fall. It would be good to have this in and optimized before those.

Best things to improve V1 performance:

1) Buy / upgrade to latest unit with best traffic monitor filitering. Only a few vehicles like Tahoes and Cadillacs still make falses.

2) Disable X band in the settings. Only a few municipalities use X band. Takes about 1 minute to do it.

3) Remember you can double tap the button to mute and it'll keep it muted for multiple bogies.

That's all I do. Runs like a champ.
