Whats up guys. I am still driving my first vehicle i've ever had. I'm thinking with almost 250k on the dash its about time for our relationship to end...

Next vehicle? RAPTOR!!!!

I found this guy on craigslist selling his 2011 raptor. Here is what the ad says:

Looking to get rid of a 2011 F150 SVT Raptor. It is a super crew (4 full doors), tuxedo black, with black leather interior. Came with the luxury package which includes power pedals, body color power folding heated mirrors, remote start, power drive and passenger seats, and heated seats. Also includes a 36 gallon fuel tank, tailgate step, and sunroof. Truck has 4,200 miles. After market accessories added are the following: bed cover, with a carpeted bed rug lining. 20% tint on the front windows and 5% on the back windows. Aftermarket head unit (IVA-W1910 Alpine), which works as a DVD player, integrated IPod in the glove compartment, navigation, and a back up camera through the ford emblem in the back. This system was professionally installed and they allowed the use of all steering wheel controls and even the Ford Sync system. Truck also has HID headlights which are 100x better then the stock headlights. I'm looking to get close to 50,000 for it, but am willing to consider any reasonable offers.

With this being said he told me that he could probably go down to 45...
I told him that I really didnt want to go above 36.

Anyone know if this is a good deal or not? I'd be coming from a very fuel efficient Honda CRV to this gas hog.

Any insight would be great thanks.

Overpriced. Buy a new one from Randy for cheaper if you are going to spend that much. I paid 48k for my 2012 new.

If you do take a look at it, check the skid plates and shock guards for damage. If they are scratched up or dented then you know its been beat up. But yeah 50k is wayyy too much.

First WELCOME to FRF !!!

$45K for a very low mileage 2011 Crew cab is about right,
With adds, Truck has 4,200 miles. After market accessories added are the following: bed cover, with a carpeted bed rug lining. 20% tint on the front windows and 5% on the back windows. I'll start with the fact I'm not a Raptor owner yet - but I'd have some hesitation with some of the aftermarket stuff he's added, mostly the electronics. You should keep something in mind with regard to the HID setup - Raptor headlamps are designed for halogen bulbs, they do not have a proper projector lens like something you'd see on an Infiniti SUV, or Range Rover, etc.

This will cause a great amount of glare to oncoming drivers, and with the Raptor's tall, wide stance, it would be like driving around with high beam flood lights. I used to have HIDs fitted in my current car's headlights and I got flashed and tailgated and horn honked all the time because of the glare they created. Brighter does not mean better - a crisp, properly projected beam, halogen or xenon, will always be superior to an aftermarket plug and play kit like what is probably on this truck.

I'm curious as to why he'd upgrade the headunit when I've found in the truck's I've tested the factory radio options are quite impressive, IMHO.

My .02 cents...

I'll hopefully be picking up my silver 2011 this week or next! :peace:

For 36k you would have to look at a 2010 with some miles on it, these truck's hold their value very well. I saw a 2010 base model a couple of month's ago with 30k miles and it sold for 40k.
