Hahaha. It’s more than I need, im not a stereo guy. A friend of mine was going to “hook” me up with a local installer. He f’d it up so bad I had to go to another shop and get it fixed. Ended up 4k in on a stereo I didn’t even want. Haha

That's exactly what led me to start doing my installs myself. You spend damn near as much on install as you do equipment. I've learned so much in the last three years. Installed better alts, learned and built lithium battery banks for high power amps, sound deadening, tons of speaker configurations and ohms etc etc. Past 10k into this build but it never stops. I now have an 8k amp to install and to fabricate adaptor plates for 8's to go into my front doors. Never Stops.

It appears to be this kit from MTI. SGS's setup don't offer 10s behind the seat; rather, 6x9s. Aside from MTI, haven't heard of anyone else offering a behind-the-seat solution for larger subs...could be wrong, don't hold me to it. lol

Larger subs require more internal airspace in the enclosure... Physically you might fit a larger sub, but you will not have the airspace to have any type of low end extension (low bass). We use two 6.5-inch subwoofers in a high-efficiency vented enclosure and based on what we see in the market, the only one that fits and allows full functionality of the rear seat. If you are willing to lose functionality of the rear seat, you gain airspace and larger subs can happen due to the gain of airspace.

Space makes bass, not the size of the woofer alone.

Moral of the story is to pull the back seat out and put in a larger enclosure with larger subs! You heard him say it! This is mine..but I'm having another built for a single 15" Sundown Audio ZV6. Hope to be able to put my seat back in and lifted up to accommodate the new enclosure.

Bit the bullet after 5 yrs of disappointment with the B&O on my 2018 and budgeting to afford the system I wanted. Wanted HQ to play all formats equaling home system HQ. Produces all types of musical sounds with ease. Could make the neighbors a bit angry and put their dogs to barking but not into the distorted base (sounds) which does not relate to HQ music IMO.

Nice! You will love it! Are your doors done? That is the most important aspect to upgrade in terms of sound deadening.

Yes, all doors have three layers of three ply or two ply sound treatment as well as behind the rear seat.
