lucky you, who was there from audio control and JL?

I agree, Iwas lucky, it's hard to find good shops anymore. I know you have to see your share of half hearted attempts at installs these days. I'm not sure who the NE/Virginia rep is for JL, he did visit their shop while this was going on. I was halfway across the country during the install. I dropped the truck off and had to head to the airport. I didn't mean to say Audiocontrol participated in the install, they were engaged on several phone conversations and meeting that occured in Dallas. Sorry, if I didn't explain well.

Timing was good for all of this to occur because the shop had just come back from Knowledgefest in Dallas, and they got to spend some time with the heads guys at Audiocontrol as well as have some hands on training with Wayne Harris of Termlab. My install was discussed one night over cocktails apparently, and the guys were interested in finding out more information regarding the EQ on the Sony systems.

The shop I used just upgraded to the latest Termlab set up so that was pretty cool to see in action. I also learned that Audiocontrol doesn't present a load to the OEM amps like standard LOC's do. The resisitance is very low, and this can cause issues. Apparently Audiocontrol is looking at adding that option to be able to switch in/out resistance on some of these factory amps that look for it.

Don't want to hijack this thread, I will try to compile all of the information on the install over the weekend, but here is a screen capture of the first RTA before the SSI was installed. No EQ'ing is occuring other than the factory, it wasn't as wild as I expected. Just straight pink noise....

here, on frf
i was up in washinton vsiting audiocontrol last year. very cool things they got there. they gave me the grand tour.

the graph certainly doesnt jump as much as you would think does it? its the sound reproduction thats the problem, not the frequency. but its definitely worth replacing.....

i dont think you need to worry about hijacking the thread........ i think your posts fall into the category of the topic........

Great, thanks dubs!! Have a bunch of other things to cover first. Sound is the last thing on my mind at the moment. I had already ran amp wiring, just need to mount amp, order speakers, box. Highs will have to wait. That's where I put my attention to. I like full sound. I know ill be adding a alpine cleansweep with remote interface. I want to really take advantage of incorporating a high amplified highs with a center channel amp that allows for surround sound stuffs. Lol. Was wanting to find out if aftermarket is offering amplified sound with a center channel output amp??
