i couldnt upload pictures via pm so here is what (generally speaking) cutting tweeter holes in the rear door panels would look like. this is my subaru, but its the same idea in all cars. these are JL C5 6 1/2 components about $500 a pair. great speakers but not necessary to spend that much to get good sound

I have to agree...The Raptor is worthy of a kick ass sound system. The Sony Premium is not so premium, I maxed out the volume on my first solo and the Sub, well I think that is just a black box in the back that just looks cool. I pulled my subwofer box out of my 2011 f150 which is two 10inch kenwoods that span the length of the back seat. Am getting the whole system amped this friday, without alteriing the head unit. If that doesnt solve the problem I will begin replacing the door speakers.

I'm going to post up my system details in the next day or two. My truck just came out of the shop after spending two months of planning with one of the countries top installers.

Went with Hertz Audio speakers, custom sub enclosure with a shallow mount Alpine sub, and full integration with the factory NAV and Sync system including a JL SSI and AudioControl LCQ1.

During the initial RTA tuning we found some very interesting things out about the EQ of the factory system which explains many of the challenges others have had with the sound after dropping a LOC in after the Sony amp.

My system had full RTA done on it before and after the intergration along with signal measurement (level and frequency response) on each and every output of the Sony amp to measure where crossovers were and how and where the OEM amp clipped.

I was lucky to have factory reps from JL and Audiocontrol involved in the research and implementation.
