Time for a new DR and a new Raptor section, ha ha ha.Forscan?? Ummm that’s kind of a personal question isn’t it? That’s between me and my doctors, I think it’s a Hippo violation even talking about it!
But no, I’m clueless on how to use it.
We need his Raptor fixed up properly, he needs to get back out there exploring and taking pictures. The rest of this week is going to suck without our addictions to his adventure threads.Hey John sorry to hear about the glitch in the Raptor and hopefully that is all it was and as you said one big computer. I've had the occasional glitch on my gen 1 and normally a key cycle makes things right again but does not address the underlying cause. Maybe the service dept will detect something never hurts to have another set of eyes look at stuff is how I look at it.
I agree. We need his Raptor fixed up properly, he needs to get back out there exploring and taking pictures. The rest of this week is going to suck without our addictions to his adventure threads.
#MeTooI agree.
Those symptoms indicate an issue with the modules on the medium speed network. A low tire will not cause that issue. It’s possible that unstable battery voltage may have caused some of the more sensitive modules to power down, so start there.@FordTechOne i need your help brother.
I got the dreaded ORANGE WRENCH today. I was out running errands. Went in an office 10min, came out and started the truck. Dash was blank, NAV/info screen completely blank, back power windows worked, front windows would not, no back up camera.
I drove it about a 1/10th of a mile and the dash and NAV screen came back on, Along with the ORANGE WRENCH-check manual-hill start/descent disabled. Started truck after it sat in the driveway 20 minutes, wrench gone.
NOTE- I have been running the tires at 30/31 for the last few days which of course triggered the Low Tire Pressure warning. Could the truck possibly be pizzed off that I haven’t aired the tires up?
I have a call into service to see if they want it brought in or if it can wait 1k miles until the oil change?
Your thoughts Sir?
Update #1. Air the tires up a bit, drive it around about 20 miles, no wrench, no other issues detected.
Talked to the service manager, I’m bringing it in Friday doing the 40k service early and checking for any codes. He thinks as I first thought “BATTERY” I have never gotten more than 3yrs out of a Battery in Las Vegas, heat kills.
I have read a few other places, here and elsewhere, anything from a gasket in the diff, to a $4k repair?
I don’t have a good battery tester just a cheap one and it’s showing 11.9-12.3 amp’s but it doesn’t test cold crank amps etc. So it’s basically worthless.
Friday they will test it properly and hopefully that’s it and they will warranty out the battery.
I’ve see on here some folks putting theirs on a trickle charge a couple times a week?
Raptor 2019, bought 11/2019, 39k miles, serviced at Ford every 5k, stock except for some BD lights.
Thankfully ESP, as always.
As Always THANK YOU in advance, your advice and guidance is Always appreciated on here by me and everyone else.
I will update after Friday
The OP is already down his vehicle and then you shoot him below the belt, priceless. Only on this forum can you suckerpunch a guy while he's down and everybody gets a good laugh, ha ha.To add to FTO's advice, I would remove your man bun also.
Thank you Sir, this gets me pointed in the right direction. I’m sure we will start with battery replacement. Those symptoms indicate an issue with the modules on the medium speed network. A low tire will not cause that issue. It’s possible that unstable battery voltage may have caused some of the more sensitive modules to power down, so start there.
Do you have anything plugged into the OBD2 port? Are the lights completely separate from all of the factory circuits? You may also want to check for moisture in the rear tail lamps and connectors under the rear bumper, that can pull down the MS-CAN bus.
