TSB 22-2428 10R60/10R80 Transmission

Looks like this TSB was just issued last week regarding the transmissions mentioned in the title. Anyone have additional information on it? All I got was the screenshot below from a buddy but can't find anything online regarding it and hoping to get some more info.

For the most part my transmission is butter but every once and a while it has a weird jerky shift… i wonder if this is why..

That is simply an update to a 2 year old TSB.

TSBs are not public for this reason. Everyone who owns an included vehicle believes they have the problem or go looking for the problem. Then they bring it to the dealer wanting the “fix” for a condition they don’t even have.

Thanks man, just didn’t know. Been having the jerking from P to D and some harsh shifting. Resetting the adaptive tables helps but only for a little while. Was hoping this might have been a perm fix, but doesn’t sound like it.

Another question from your response, is it possible to turn off the adaptive learning altogether and just use the stock tables from ford?

Not to hijack, but yes it is possible to turn off adaptive learning but I wouldn't recommend it. It not only adapts the shift points, line pressures and shift time/lag/flare based on the driver's habits, but it also adapts to normal internal transmission wear and tear. It would probably end up making your clunky shifting worse in the long run.

When the adaptive tables are reset the drive cycle needs to be performed, otherwise it will not relearn properly. The Adaptive learning is only intended to be turned off for diagnostics, not indefinitely.

Here’s the procedure:

Bought my 2018 Raptor originally. Have had chronic problems with hard shifting and 'clunks' shifting out of 3-4th gear, when coasting and at highway speeds when quickly accelerating to pass. I have had the truck into Ford service six times with this problem. They've replaced the valve body...

Maybe don’t jerk while shifting from P to D? Or at least use a different ‘venue’...
