sucks to have happened to you, but, you gotta lock your doors no matter what. There are a lot of lowlifes that have no problems breaking into other peoples cars and stealing shit. I trust no one. My truck/cars get locked no matter what, even if I were next door to the police department.

That sucks.

I don't mean to condem but a lot of smash and grabs is due to people leaving valuables in plan site. So locking your doors is only half the solution, you need to keep anything of value out of site.

I can't carry a weapon into every establishment, and sometimes have to leave them in the truck. Not going to make it easy for someone to make off with guns or any other valuables, so got these:

Comsole Vault:

Ford F150 Flow Through Floor Console: 2009 - 2012

Can still use plastic console tray. Have to turn it around so that coin slots are on driver side. Then use the correct-sized bit to drill out a lock-size hole in the plastic tray. It fits perfectly and the rubber mat is placed back over it so don't see the hole.

Tuffy Under-Rear Seat Lock Box:

Bolts in easily. The jack and other accessories bolt down inside the lock-box.

Cheap insurance and definitely peace of mind

Sorry to hear about someone stealing your stuff. That happened to me a few years ago. Turned out to be local kids being *********.
I lock up my Raptor when its parked inside of my garage. If I am not in the truck, its locked regardless of where its parked. I am not going to give the spraypaint huffing little bastards an easy target.

its called lojack my friend. chances are its gonna be the same people and if i can track down the truck to someones house, then i'll know who took everything. if it gets trashed, i'll have a pretty good lawsuit against them and i have good insurance. sure, its not something i WANT to happen, but in the end, its only a vehicle. its not like theyre stealing a kid or anything.

May want to be careful with the spare key thing. I maybe wrong but it's my understanding that if you leave your keys in the car and it's stolen the insurance may not cover it. I forget the terminology but something like assisted theft? The assisted part being the keys left in it. And I also could be completely wrong haha.
