damn that sucks, the police in my city will sometimes just stroll around a neighborhood and try to unlock your doors, and if they can/cant they leave a lil piece of paper saying "If I was a thief I would/would not have taken stuff out of your car".

i just heard something about that. i think its in chicago, maybe, where if you leave your car unlocked, cops can write you a ticket for being "too easy to steal." sometimes i wonder what this country is coming to.

I have to ask the silly question, and hopefully without being rude. Why does anyone EVER leave their car unlocked?

Does any Raptor not have remote lock/unlock capabilities? I live in a nice neighborhood, never had any sort of issue whatsoever, but I can't imagine not locking my truck, even if I'm just going inside for five minutes.

Suck mans, hole you catch em.

When I'm I the city I don't even think about leaving my truck unlocked. When I'm at home, usually it's unlocked with the windows all open. Never had a problem, Town of 90 people and 75% of em are old. No cops either haha.

My Raptor got broken into in 2010. They used a circular device to punch out my lock and stole a whole bunch of shit from inside including a whole bunch of tools, a ton of my blueprints, a Versace blazer and much more.

The ironic part was I was doing all my alarm/security research the very week it happened. *******.

if i go out somewhere, it always gets locked. without even thinking about it. its just habit. but when im at home, im always forgetting stuff in my truck so i leave it open.
after this incident, i cleaned all of my stuff out of it except for 1 thing: my spare key. it continues to stay unlocked and i even started rolling the windows down. call me crazy but my little scheme will work one of these days and i'll figure out who the theif is.

It's really sad that we have to feel this way, you should be able to leave your truck unlocked anywhere and not worry about it.

I agree, but it isn't reality.

You have your truck open and a spare key in the truck? How is this going to catch a thief (it works in Bait Car I guess)? You hope the cops manage to track the truck down after the thief has stolen/trashed it?

its called lojack my friend. chances are its gonna be the same people and if i can track down the truck to someones house, then i'll know who took everything. if it gets trashed, i'll have a pretty good lawsuit against them and i have good insurance. sure, its not something i WANT to happen, but in the end, its only a vehicle. its not like theyre stealing a kid or anything.
