do you guys spend every night in a hotel on the trip? I'm thinking about introducing my wife to a raptor run next year and this one seems like it would be "calm" enough for her, but camping is right out.

Nick…you'd love it…!!

The trip was almost unbelievable…!!
Weather was fantastic…cool with just enough overnight showers to keep the dust down.
Everyone in the group was great…wonderful folks…
The hotels were great as were the restaurants for lunch & dinner.
All the trails and vistas we experienced were more beautiful than you can imagine.
We drove on some trails that you had to "think skinny" on….very narrow and straight down…not for the timid or weak at heart…
Everyone got to experience technical water crossings, slippery rock climbs, narrow trails, short switchbacks and it even hailed on us going up Imogene Pass….
A few of us climbed to the summit of Imogene Pass 13,114 ft. That was an unexpected bonus….the air was thin and you could see all the way to Telluride.
Trey did a fantastic job with all the planning and logistics. We even had breakfast at and toured the Bachelor/Syracuse Mine outside of Ouray.
On the trails, Trey was great at calling out traffic, points of interest and giving tips on how to transit certain areas.
We had plenty of time to get out and see/explore ghost towns, old mine areas, streams and wildlife.
Our excursion also had a professional photographer (Austin) in his own Raptor.
Austin has such a great eye and talent for setting up group & individual shots of our trucks and the mountain trail views.
My wife had never experienced anything like this and even before it was over, she said she wanted to go again next year..!!
When the oncoming traffic would spot us….they always gave up the trail for us to pass….you should've seen all the jeep/buggy drivers/riders jaws drop from the sight of 12 Raptors coming down the trail…!!
We got a lot of "thumbs up" and two guys even "slapped skin" and gave me "high fives" as we passed them on a very narrow trail..!!
The most out of place thing I saw was some old lady driving a Ford Fiesta (I think..maybe a Focus) down the beginning of one trail….she was on oxygen too….!!
We covered a bunch of ground in our trucks….usually took about half the time to do a trail as the guide books said….Raptors ruled the trails no doubt about it…!! The front camera was of great use on tire placement for the "blind areas"….that little camera washer spray thingy worked great too..!!

The only downside was…..we had to leave the cool weather and go back to the heat & humidity of Houston….

I'll go again next year if I'm lucky enough to win a spot in the drawing..!!

See ya'll at Raptoberfest…!!

Sounds awesome! The only thing I don't want is pinstripes from the trail haha...other than that, it just sounds like a blast!

Set this up for next year. With some notice I will 100% be down to make the trip out from northern Indiana and I'm sure a few more from Michigan would also convoy.
