So this is a new one:

22' PowerBoost FX4 Lariat. Custom ordered and received off the line in June 2022. All stock parts still, 44,500 miles on it.

Coming home tonight, literally a mile from my house I braked to turn down the street I live off of and the truck shook a little and it felt like either the brakes seized up or possibly the rear axel.

I know there was an active recall for the rear axel a bit ago and I took it in to Gary Smith Ford in Ft. Walton Beach FL and they said it was good.

I was stuck halfway up a hill and couldn't move. Truck sounded like it was winding when I attempted to hit the gas. Vehicle was in drive and if I let off the brake it would roll down the hill like if it were in neutral. It also went into all electric mode (not sure if that's relevant).

I eventually let it roll down the hill until I could turn the corner with it and get off to the shoulder of the road i initially turned off of.

I turned the vehicle on and off a few times. Cutting the power completely by opening the door and waiting a bit. Didn't matter. I tried switching into 4A and 4H and nothing. Also did 4L and nothing. Eventually I was able to get it into 4L and the M just below the D and I got up the hill at about 10-15 mph. I was able to go up to 4th gear but not past that.

Even if the vehicle was in park with it on it was still rolling backwards unless the parking brake engaged. But that even kept randomly engaging and disengaging.

Does anybody have any idea what the heck this could be? I'm taking it to the dealer first thing in the morning but I'd like to know what the community thinks to get a better idea and maybe do some trouble shooting before the dealer charges me God knows what.

Thanks in advance

Mine will do this every once in a while when I change maps with my accessport--- you didn't mention this is your case so it may be totally a different scenario- when changing maps sometimes the computer reboot just doesn't go perfectly and I'll get a hiccup--- may be similar in your situation that your TCM or ECU is not booting correctly when you power on and start up the truck...

Probably a poor ground circuit somewhere(?). The powerboost “feature” is a bastardized system at best.
