Is it safe to mount the compressors upside down? I thought I saw something that said you weren't supposed to?
mine have been on for a year if not longer. my compressors fire up every couple of days to fill my tanks. have used several times at raptor meets and sand dunes. alway fire on when i use my train horns. no issues so far.

Your not supposed to.
I suggest the compressor mounting bracket that is on Amazon and mount it in your bed tucked under a bed rail. Ensure the intake is protected from mud.

Be sure to wire the compressor to a switch. It should only run while the truck is running. Otherwise the voltage draw on just the battery can damage the compressor.

Horns under the bed work well. But add you heard Sunday morning, one of mine is not working properly. Could have been all the White Lake mud and water thus February. They look clean, but something is up.

For that big ass tank. Only place under the truck is the location @Hole Shot and I have used (if you want to retain your spare tire under the bed). Otherwise you got to put it in the bed.
@SCRaptorGirl needs to mount her setup as well. You guys should have an install party.

I just saw this post with a quick search. I was looking for my install pics.
@KaiserM715 may want to merge them as they are the same question.

I would love to do an install party but I'm in MD right now and trying to do them before rausch creek.

One other thing I didn't think about before, I plan on dovetailing the bed eventually. Is that gonna affect anything if it mount it where yours is or where the spare goes?

Haha I did a search the other day and never saw that.

Mine has been sitting in my garage since Christmas so I am all for an install party! Especially now that my stock horn sounds so pathetic.
I'd be more than happy to help when I get back. Should be pretty easy after all the mistakes I make putting mine in. Lol

That would be great! I have tried to find a shop around here to do it but no luck so far.

Great! Baseball and school will be over by then. Once we get into June, I will get with you on a good weekend. If it is nice, we can get out on the boat after.
