Trading my 2014 SVT truck for a 23 Avalanche tomorrow. Kind of misty about it.

Like others have said on this board - stick with it.
I got really lucky to have contacted them when I did. Pure chance.
I contacted them on Jan 15 about a truck on their website that I was told was customer ordered.
On Jan 18 they reached out via text saying they had two trucks inbound AT MSRP.
They sent me the build list for both and let me pick. Felt like I hit on the powerball.
Spoke too soon and didn't have to stick with it too long! Just got a text from them that the white one I was interested in was backed out on and if I still wanted it at MSRP. Just spoke to them and got the ball rolling on it. Was told there was a back out on an AG one also.

Nice.
This may not happen with you but, I'm in PA too, they use a 3rd party company to process the title / registration.
When we started there was a wild line item on the deal sheet for over $1000 in "fees". Immediate red flag.
I was transferring a PA registration I had just renewed in Jan.
Salesperson got the GM and they tried to explain some kind of error from that 3rd party that resulted in that amount.
I'm giving benefit of the doubt but look for that.

After I sold my first 13 SVT I went a year before the itch to be back behind the wheel of one was too much. Luckily I found one with half the miles and the Roush supercharger kit.

You will be amazed at how crappy your Gen1 is when you drive the all new designed better in every way Gen whatever now. It will never have the soul your 1 has but hey like murdereout said those heated steering wheels are worth it. I love how every 2 or 3 owners think the 1’s are dinosaurs and light years ahead. Horse drawn wagons to space ships

Ok… title caught me off guard for a second. Was thinking Chevy Avalanche. I was like, “they’re bring that back?”. Then quickly realized we’re talking about the color.

I’m a Chevy convert, so you’ll have to bare with me. Can be a little slow making all the name adjustments. Duh !!!

It's def more refined if that's something you want.
The behavior of the rear end is very different.
So far I really like the interior quality / tech. I remember knowing I was going to hate the plastics in the 2014 before I took delivery, and I did. But that wasn't the point of the truck.
The sound is really my only issue with the truck so far. I knew it wasn't going to be great, and it's not.

Not possible people with personal experience upgrading (it is an upgrade ) … nope just assumptions they have the best. Or is that one defensive owners of other versions are doing without driving a new one?

Why so defensive? The new trucks are better in every aspect, not just technology. The Gen 1 feels every bit as old as it is, especially on the road.

The tech, the ride, the stance, the power, you’re going to love all of it (the mpg too lol) - I think the Gen1 still has a special look to it, but you can keep the gen3 for a solid 10 years again & never have to worry about rust.

I think a lot of truck buyers who aren’t really Gearhead or manufacturing nerds don’t truly appreciate how cool it is to have a full size truck made entirely of aluminum.
Just like a beercan you mean?

Better aluminum than plastic tho
