You bought your raptors used as did I, go buy a new gen 3 for 78-86 k if you can even find a dealer to sell you one for msrp. Watch it be worth 43-47k with 50 thousand miles on it 4-5 years later. I do agree the Japanese built models are better in some regards as quality goes but the new generation Seqouia/ Tundra was built by toyota the right way. Yall scared the op off his decision. Luckily I don't need a message forum to validate my decisions for me. Raptors are great trucks but I never used my Raptors with teh exception of the gen 1 like they were supposed to be used.

You think a 4-5 year old Raptor with 50k miles is going to be worth 50% of its original msrp? That’s insane.

You couldn’t be more wrong and all the data out there establishes that.

OK so I will say this and remember im comparing 2 vehicles i own and owned..if i was comparing an 07 f150 to and 07 tundra..i would not know anything about the 07 f150 so i am going with my own opinion and ownership. 07 tundra with 5.7 4x4..in my opinion most bang for a truck reliability I'd go with the tundra vs a 07 f150 period.
Ok…so you admit you didn’t own an F-150, but you’ve formed an opinion on which is the better “bang for the buck” and “more reliable”?

Instead of speculating, I’ll tell you the facts. The 3UR-FE is not more reliable than a 5.0, in fact it’s significantly worse. When they launched in ‘06/07 they were snapping camshafts in the heads due to poor engineering. Toyota uses a cam “tower” sealed with RTV to the head. They have a pattern of developing an oil leak that reoccurs every 75k miles at best regardless of sealant.

The 07-13 AIR pumps were also a major failure point, they tend to fail right after warranty and cost approximately $4000 out of pocket to fix.

The starter is in the valley of the engine and requires significant labor to replace, and they tend to fail around 130k miles.

My 2012 f150 4x4 5.0 was OK. Stock vs stock...my 07 tundra is a better truck as far as power. Torque and reliability. In my opinion. Resell value. F150 from my Era vs tundra...tundra always is showing up worth more and more reliable. This is my opinion again. So remember I'm speaking from ownership.myself. 330k miles on my tundra.
So your “opinion” again. Based on zero factual evidence, or even experience. The 5.0 has more power and is faster than the tundra. Once again your inherent bias is showing.
Here are the parts that 100% broke and had to be fixed that left me stranded.......starter....245k miles the year...2018. That's it...nothing else at all..to this day. The f150 2012 coyote...rear main seal leak at 93k...fuse 27 left me dead in the water ( didn't know this was even an issue till it blew about 7 fuses under the hood). Other than that I sold the f150 with 175k miles. I could of sold my tundra but truly...the 07 tundra vs the 2012 f150...I'll take that 5.7 over that 5.0 coyote all day long. Sorry that motor is not impressive at all. Not stock. I do understand the difference between the 2 trucks and the fact that my 07 tundra has a 5.7 vs a 5.0....and that my 07 has 4:10 gears vs 3:73 in the f150. Now my raptor vs the tundra....Raptor all day long period. But that's not comparing apples to apples or even close. I'm picking the raptor for what it is over any 1/2 truck period. If I needed a work vehicle it wouldn't be a raptor and probably not a f150 either. But I don't so I enjoy my raptor lol. I coach and do the guard thing...if I need to tow anything big...I live in the country...I've got plenty of buds to help me out if the tundra can't handle it. But since the 07 tundra hauled a space shuttle then I can haul anything I want
The fact that you think a Toyota PR stunt was real speaks volumes.

Wrong ...I owened a 2012 f150....I didn't own an 07 f150 to compare exactly same years as far as tech and stuff Resized_20200405_132708.jpeg

You didn't read what I said or maybe it was my delivery, the articles that were done on how they accomplished the 1/4 miles tow or whatever it was around that and the video they made about it and the truck at the museum with the shuttle is what I based this off of. Not just Toyota. I did own a 2012 f150 and that's what I stated I was comparing it to. Yes the secondary air pump issue was a problem for some not all btw. Does it leave you dead in the water nope..limp mode or use an obd2 and reset the code and your good to go..or by the 150 dollar kit and bypass it...or if you were under 10 yrs and under 150k miles..Toyota covered it under warranty.but again I owned a 2012 f150 and I never saw a 5.9 as an engine option for that truck...I had the 5.0. So they made a 5.9? Weird

What data is that? I was offered three trade in values for my pristine 2018 gen 2 lead foot with 51k miles on it. 43k, 46k, 48.5k, I ended up selling it to another dealer for 51k. It is probably in Texas or Mexico as a cartel truck and/ or desert beater,
