GEN 2 towing gurus, how do I adjust my WDH? (post Deaver spring install)

I had my local RV service guy setup my WDH, I had Deaver +3HDs installed later that week

so my WDH that used to sit on the 3rd chain link down, now sits at the 1st chain link due to the height difference - what do I need to adjust on my WDH to get it back to the 3rd link?

here's the setup with the Deavers installed - btw makes a HUGE difference towing with both the WDH and Deaver +3HD

If you don't need as much preload on the bar, you can reduce the angle of the hitch by removing washers from the adjustment pin.

However, what does the whole truck/trailer look like on level ground, with the typical load out in the bed and in the trailer?

Usually, you hook the trailer up, then use the tongue jack to lift it all up so you can get to about the middle link in the chain.

Yeah I did the tongue jack lift - it’s about an inch raise in the wheel arch (as expected) but I think it raises the ass end up a little higher than one inch

I’ll have to check the stance again next week prior to our trip

The truck should still squat some when using WDH, the WDH should NOT lift the back of the truck. Lifting the back of the truck means you have negative tongue weight, which is not safe.

the deaver +3HDs lifted my truck - post WDH setup so it's higher than OEM height now

Can you not just take it back to your RV service tech and have them adjust it?

WDH should be setup with the truck and trailer loaded for a typical trip, and the goal is to have the trailer level, and squat the truck a couple inches. If the truck has some rake like factory, that means the truck will be somewhere around level or slightly squatted. If the truck is level to start, it'll be squatted some.

all fixed now, dropped the WDH bolt by 1 hole, perfect tow to Pismo and back - 5.5 hours one way - zero issues!
