My only thing with this is the price comparison. Your diy is compared to a professionally installed wrap. If I had ordered exactly enough vinyl then our prices would be comparable. Don't get me wrong, it looks great in the pictures and you probably had it done in a 1/16 of the time it took me.

I seriously contemplated dipping instead but I know that plastidip does not hold up as well as vinyl. It will also stains really bad. Since the prices for materials were about the same I went with vinyl because I knew what type of environment she would be subjected to.

I was not comparing the price I paid to a pro wrap.
I haven't had any staining issues. But there is things that you can do to combat that problem like waxing it or using spray detailers. And the diy price of the vinyl may be about the same cost initialy but the dip cost is lower for repeated installs Vinyl is not. And the company that makes plastidip has been improving the product and the newer colors and some of the improved colors like the new black and others aren't as prone to staining they cover better and are easier to clean.
I'm not trying to knock on vinyl by any means I just like and use plastidip.
I also considered that I would most likely want to change colors at least once a year and that swayed me to do plastidip instead of a wrap. What also swayed me to plastidip was that you can make any color you might want including chameleon pearls.

Yes, I should have mentioned certain colors have had issues. You're right though, it would be easier to swap plastidip than vinyl.

That ended up being my deciding factor, that I knew I would want to change the color often.
I wouldn't have even considered either but I couldn't get the truck special ordered in the color I really wanted lol. Which would be gotta have it green, so something very similar to that will be on my truck in an upcoming dip. I would have done it first but I wanted to just do a basic color first to test my skill at application and the pearls are expensive so I needed to make sure I would like it and that I was capable of doing it before doing such an expensive dip.

That Plasti Dip looks great! I tried it on some wheels and it worked good. Did my flares and they just stripped off. But that color and your ability to lay it on smooth looks nice. Well done.....

Thanks, appreciate the props!
