So let me ask as if this hasn’t been asked before. Are you guys moving the rears to the front and criss crossing them? Then each front directly to the back on the same side? It’s kinda of asking about tire rotation 101 but this is my first Raptor and never had KO2’s.

spare to right rear....rr to to rf......rf to lr....lr to lf......lf to spare

Yes.....buy new TPMS from Amazon for $19....$19 to get it put in the tire.......rotate every 7k miles. tires now will have 20% more life before i need to replace

This is exactly what I was thinking. Thanks!

No way! The rears wear out so fast on those trucks. Don't rotate them. Once you need new rears just buy 1 tire. Use the spare tire as the other. Fronts will last 3x longer than the rears on the Raptor. Why wear them all out?

meh...i like your idea....but rotating all 5 tires correctly......should get me 40k miles + out of these tires

My OCD would not handle 2 rear tires having zero miles while the fronts have 20k miles......i think my vrain would melt down :)

I bought a 5th tpms and do a 5 tire rotate.. but i couldn't get the truck to recognize the new tpms..you should see the confusion in the service writers eyes when I asked about all this when I first thought of it.. so did any one else have luck doing it??

as long as you bought the correct TMPS....just drive the truck...the truck should pick it up and sort what tire is in what location on it's own in about 20 miles.

I bought the ford tool and did not need it.

I'm not sure I follow your logic here. For simple math, let's say the rear tires last a year. Sure, the first time you replace a tire, you'll have to replace just a single. Next time you'll need to replace 2. You'll have replaced 3 tires in 2 years. At 3 years, you'll need to replace the front 2. In 4 years, you'll have replaced 9. In 5, 11 tires. At 6, 15.. The ration will get worse from here since you can't leverage the spare anymore, but you essentially have a rate of 2.5 tires per year over the first 6 years.

If you regularly rotate the tires so all 5 tires rotate evenly, a single tire will spend 2/5 year in the front, 2/5 in the rear, and 1/5 as a spare. If 100% wear occurs for rear tires in the rear, than a single tire will be 23% wear from front use, 40% wear from rear use, and 0% from spare use, or 63% wear. That means you'd need to replace all 5 tires at 1.67 years..or 2.99 tires per year.

So it does look like you'll save money with your method (although savings get worse, except you can often get a free tire when you buy 3 or more, so the rotating method is actually pay for 2.4 tires per year. And, if you have any uneven wear, that can be more easily worked out when you rotate the tires.

I'm not saying your plan is wrong, just that it's certainly not a clear winner.

This works and is pretty easy for driveway tire rotations. Will keep in mind for when I can’t get lift access. Have never incorporated the spare into rotations before. Good option though.

I have one of the 4 ton Harbor Freight Jacks and a good set of air tools. The hardest part of the entire process is getting the spare lowered from under the truck. A good jack makes quick work of jacking up each corner separately.

My tires have 24,000 mile son them and i am one rotation from being back to how the truck was delivered new in regards to locations. (4 rotations) (my spare is on my lf) my tires still have 50% of their tread left. street use only.

I did it a couple times.

Last rotation the youngsters at the shop, with the gear, did it for $20.

BTW, ask them use the right size socket and go easy with the air wrenches.

Sounds like your getting good mileage out of them. So eventually each tire makes its way around the truck. I would imagine that should keep the wear very even. Corner by corner with a good sized jack shouldn’t be bad.

Are all you guys hand torquing or having your shop do this?
