I am looking for some input for some recommendations on tires. They will be used summer and winter, on and off-road. I am looking for the best compromise of all of this with the only requirement of them being more aggressive than the stockers.

I have been looking into the following tires and I just want some first hand experience or even common knowledge as to which would suit my needs best. I live in Canada so bear in mind we have more of a winter than a summer. Although I could always just use my stockers for the winter months.

I have looked into the following:

Toyo Open Country M/T
Nitto Mud or Trail Grappler
Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac
General Grabber
Falken Wildpeak A/T

Any input would be appreciated and out of the bunch which anyone would recommend. Stuff such as snow performance, wet weather, how fast they wear, off-road performance, noise etc.

Thanks!

I have had toyos and loved them awesome all around!!!! the grabbers i hear are good to i just hear they don't do as well in the snow. I would stay away from the nitto. the falken's are the best bang for your buck i think.:imo:

Another tire to consider are the toyo ATII's they're a new more aggressive design and are made for year around driving!

I had toyo MT's in a 37" and loved them but the cost was outrageous.

I just got a set of Toyo's MT 35 12.50 17
Love the look
They right almost as smooth as the BFGs
There is some road noise from the tread, but I consider it minimal.

The only issue I had was getting it aligned properly. The MT tires and Toyo/Nitto in particular is that they have a tendency to pull to the right. The Alignment tech might need to adjust for that.

I really , really like my Toyo's.

Those look great, especially since I am considering the method NV's as well.

I've got the Falken Wildpeaks and they're awesome. They have performed extremely well in snow, mud, sand, wet and dry pavement, and gravel! Also they are smooth and quiet on the road.

Nitto Trails...can't go wrong with those or the Toyos either...running Method DS machine lip...the road noise is only nominally louder than the stockers...

Ditto except mine have not been in the snow yet. Perform outstanding on the road!

The Duratrac is pretty much crap for me--sidewall is very weak. Grabbers if you mean Red Letter went bad on my truck with only 5k on them. Had a shimmy in the afternoon only between 55 and 65--could not get rid of it. I have the Toyo A/T's on my jeep and love them..

For what I have to do tires that do not have a 3ply sidewall are not considered. Street queens you bet but rocks and thorns over an inch long are not going to do a 2ply sidewall any good. Been there done that..

BFG AT/MT. 35's or 37's...

Honestly, lots of great comments on these tires from a bunch of reputable sources. I think my 37's will be the AT's.

TOYO M/T's are hard to beat for all around performance and traction in sand, mud and snow. They have a heavy sidewall that can handle being aired down really low without going flat from hazards, yet run smooth with minimal noise on pavement. I believe that Nitto's are now made by TOYO which is why they look so similar.
