There are not many who run 20s and even fewer who opt for F-Load range tires for the reasons stated above. Even though he has front springs, I still suggest you go for a ride in his truck before agreeing to a swap. In the past the Grapplers were noisy on the road and only got worse as they wore down.

Also, why does he want to trade? He may not give you a straight answer, but it might be because it rides like crap and is very noisy unless you crank your radio up real high... ;)

Not a good trade without him putting a new set of E rated tires on.

Thanks for the replies guys. The deal is off. But for those curious he said that it was so that he could air down more and run a true beadlock. He turned it off because he did some more research about running beadlocks on the road and decided to go a different route. I’m not upset, I love my stock setup, just figured if it was free I could try something different and I think that they would look good. Always been a sucker for black vehicles with gold wheels.

I ordered my ‘17 With the standard 17” wheels (not bead lock). The original KO’s lasted about 28k miles and were nearly slick (dangerous on wet pavement). Thus about two months ago I opted for 20” Venomrex 20” wheels and 35” Ridge Grapplers. I love the look, so some off-road (mostly sand), and the nittos seem to perform better than stock my situations. The major draw-back for me has not been the stiffer ride but rather the MUCH heavier tire and rolling resistance, which I can feels during acceleration etc. I like and will keep my 20” wheels but will opt for a lighter tire next go-round.

i think it’s in your head man, unless somehow the weight being in the tire matter more than the wheel. But I did the math and the two setups are within 1 pound of one another. That calculation was with the beadlock wheels, I’m not sure if the standard wheels are lighter or not.
