Throttle stuttering on acceleration

In for updates ... my truck does this too. Has since day one ... I haven't bothered taking it in to the dealership because I haven't wanted to deal with the inconvenience honestly. I figured they would just tell me they couldn't reproduce the issue. I noticed it immediately when I was driving it off the lot. Figured it was just crappy gas but I've been running 93 octane ever since and of course that didn't fix it. Hoping for a real fix soon. Thanks for the all the research @03'Darin

Waiting on the FSE to schedule a date to come. He's already called asking what the concern is but has not called back to schedule a date he will be here.

Thanks for the update. If I were a betting man I’d wager this is going to end up being one of those “oh... THAT’s what it was” problems.

There’s probably one, maybe 2 subject matter experts in the company who truly know running this issue to ground, and the wisdom exists pretty much only in their heads, because they’re so busy fixing stuff, that writing it down would take them away from actually fixing stuff.

Yeah I've got to say that I'm a bit concerned how this is going to go. Unfortunately the days of our FSE's actually being knowledgeable and anxious to solve problems seems to be long gone. Any more they seem to just be data collectors and not that interested in solving issues. We used to have FSE's come on a pretty regular basis. They were experienced techs and engineers. However with the data logging capabilities now a days they almost aren't even needed. We've transmitted the data to Ford, they know exactly what the problem is. So really the FSE coming here probably isn't going to change anything until there are enough complaints with this issue that Ford addresses and fixes the problem.

Yes I agree there are probably only a couple people in the company that can figure out and correct this issue. From all of the data we have collect I'd bet very heavily that the problem is all programming related.

I bet that they fall back on "it's normal - live with it". I wonder how this will go over with owners.

Everyone who has changed the plugs has reported it fixed the issue and no one has reported it coming back, myself included.

By all means, sit on your thumbs and wait for the techs at your Ford dealership to get stumped, then Google what to do and find this very thread. They'll change the plugs, fix the issue, so you dipshits can feel better some ***** at the dealership fixed the problem because he had the common sense to follow the proven advice posted here.

I have an '18, with the Stage one Whipple and experienced the shutter issue as well.....I changed to SP542 plugs and all was good for a while, now the shutter is back again. I am going to put the stock plugs back in and she'll go to the dealer Tuesday......any feedback on this?

The FSE contacted our tech. He will not be coming out. Basically here's the deal.....

Ford is aware of this issue. They currently are working on a fix for the 5.0/10 speed combo. They have done one update with minimal improvement. The issue comes from the PCM trying to maximize power based on a multitude of inputs. As the PCM is processing everything and pulling data from multiple tables it is causing the PCM to make abrupt subtle changes with the throttle body causing the feeling of an engine miss. Just FYI the spark plug change has ZERO affect on this.

So at this point they are not working on a fix for the Raptor motors. The way it sounds they have not had enough people report this issue to their dealers so it's not a priority concern.

So my suggestion is everyone that feels this issue needs to take the truck to their dealer and have them investigate. Once enough people complain Ford will prioritize this issue.

Update... The best thing we can do to get Ford working on this issue is call the Ford Customer Service line and report your complaint. That phone number is 1-800-392-3673

It is not the same. I put secure idle on the truck with forscan. Every time I open driver door the rpm changes. Weird . Subltle. but there. These computers are something else.
