Throttle stuttering on acceleration

I'm not sure how the Ford tool breaks down the data, but I would like to see whatever engine data is available. At this point, I'm more focused on the engine performance parameters like pedal position, actual throttle position, Target Load, Actual Load, Throttle Requested Load, Throttle Requested Torque, Torque to Load, Load to Torque, Throttle Inlet Pressure, Throttle Inlet Pressure Target, Throttle Inlet Pressure Max, Manifold Absolute Pressure Actual, MAP Limit Max. etc., etc., etc.... The transmission data may be needed later if nothing unusual shows up in the engine data. I'm expecting to see one or more of the pressure limits, calculated load, or torque limits at or slightly above which is causing the ETC to fluctuate.

I'll see what I can get for you. If I can collect data that helps you figure this out we'll go out and collect what ever you think will help you.

We have a shifty little gas station in my small town that I was getting gas from. I have noticed the studder when going up the mountain (paying more attention because of this thread) and have since switched to chevron gas and it has smoothed out in the lower rpms. Just a thought

I appreciate your suggestion about this issue. But my truck has now done this for all 24,000 miles and I've been through multiple different types of fuel. That includes brands and grades. All have done the same thing.

Sorry for the delay in info but I've just been busy in sales and haven't had time to do more data logging. Ford Hotline did contact out tech back and ask for some more readings. Different that what we've already done but I'm not sure exactly what. I'm going to try and get together with him tomorrow and see if we can make time to get the recordings

Ok we were out and data logged again yesterday. Ford wanted us to monitor the cylinder acceleration rate.

This data logging was a request from the FSE. He said at this point there have not been enough issues reported that Ford has escalated this concern to the programming department. However he is still working on trying to determine what is causing the problem.

The FSE will now be coming here to check how bad my trucks problem is.

So PLEASE...... EVERYONE with this issue please call Fords Customer Concern line and open a ticket on this problem. Unless everyone speaks out and there are enough complaints Ford will not address the problem.

FORDZA1 I have data log files that I can email you from all of our testing. Hopefully the format is something that you can read. PM your email and I'll send them to you.

First make sure your truck does in deed have the concern we're chasing. There are a few good descriptions above in this thread about how to duplicate the issue.

I think that would be worthwhile because it would give us a solid link to resource and it will be easier to engage the troops. You did say it actually exists in -all- 10 speed 3.5TT F150’s, right?

If you want, we could collaborate on a posting to make it easier for all of us to engage as needed? PM me if you want to go this route, then we can ask the mods for a sticky post.

Ford told us it existed on the 10 speed tranny trucks. I have driven a 17' non Raptor twice now and it does not have the issue. So Ford did tell us that they are working on this issue with the 5.0 motor but none of the others.

I'm anxious to see what the FSE thinks tomorrow after we drive my truck. I feel my truck is pretty bad. So does our lead tech. It will be interesting to see what the "corporate" mentally thinks.

I think a sticky is a great idea. Lets wait until tomorrow and see what the FSE has to say. Then we'll move forward with that.

...If you want to see if your truck has this issue and how bad it is do this. The best example is to find a long up hill but you can also duplicate it on the flat. Drive along at say 30 - 40 mph. Start rolling in the throttle until the truck drops to 5th gear. At that point continue tipping throttle in trying to make a long steady pull while the truck stays in 5th gear. So as the truck goes faster accelerate more so that it stays in 5th. It feels like an engine miss from a bad spark plug or coil....

Does it happen with the truck in 5th gear manual mode, or only when in auto mode? I can't seem to get mine to do it, but I'll try again...
