So it is a fuel compensating tune? Can anyone confirm or refute that?

Can anyone from SVC explain?

I'm pretty sure SVC leaves the knock sensors active, where others disable it. So worse case; the tune retains the factory safe parameters. @svc or @HAYNES OFFROAD

Imagine switching between octanes in your stock tune and Going Into different altitutdes, the truck learns to adapt to the changes. This is the same with our tune. Since our tuner was trained by Ford we do not turn any sensors off and stay within all Fords safety parameters to ensure there is no premature wear or damage or drive train components. This is also why our tune passes emissions tests. If ford were to allow the trucks to have no restrictions from the factory or they offered a performance tune, our tune would be it. We have had guys run 87 with knock sensor at 0 and the truck learned to adapt to it. However we reccomend setting global spark/timing for desired octane for the best results.

Good to know - thank you. Your tune is the only one that compensates for fuel type which is nice. So, you just load into the computer, then run whatever gas you want without having to adjust anything in the actual parameters (via handheld I assume), correct?

You can run higher octane with global spark set for 87 octane with no issues. Running less octane with global work set for 87 is not advised for getting optimal results. I personally run 87 octane with global spark set at -4 for daily driving, when I head out to the desert for a run I switch to 91 and set global spark at 0 for best results possible.

Engine knock ranges from inconsequential to very destructive as cylinder pressures increase with the more knock the engine experiences. I would say that the engine knock from running 87 octane with global spark set at zero would be very low, possibly bad for the motor over an extended period of time. Knock is monitored heavily when tuning my GTR, every once in a while it occurs when I driving up a mountain near where I live, my tune is designed to flash the CEL when it happens to let me know. Is it not good for the engine and cylinders, short answer is yes. Is it enough to cause engine failure? Depends on how much knock and for how long it occurs.

It literally takes like 10 mins to change settings. If that. You can do that while filling up with fuel. Besides, who changes octane THAT often!?
@Jimbo and I had this conversation during his install today. Haha

EXATCLY! Once the tune is loaded, it is literally less than 5 minutes to change global spark settings.
