I have found that driving up really big dunes is best done in manual mode, locked in at 1st or 2nd gear. At least that's how it works on a Gen 1, but.....we don't have Baja Mode. Have to do that manually. The fast flowing stuff and big horsepower climbs are where this thing excels. Only one refusal, brute power picking out one of the tricky crestings wasn’t the answer, especially as the fourth vehicle. Just spun in the ruts. Backed out in 4Low and picked a different line to the left. Only nearly got beached crest surfing once… felt it surfing on the skid plates then heard it revving up, turned down quickly whilst I could.
Aye, same… mostly just slotting between 1st/2nd on the auto box shifter. Off-road on, advanced track off, locked in first or second. Manual and the buttons on longer open stretches.I have found that driving up really big dunes is best done in manual mode, locked in at 1st or 2nd gear.
