I think Gen I owners are in denial. I understand, I have a Boss 302, then the GT350 I took delivery of is vastly superior in every way. It's the same thing. My advice would be to sell your Gen I Raptors while you can still get good money for them. You have about 6 months at most. After that you're gong to have regrets as I think that much of the pride you have in your trucks is the solid resale value they currently have, and not so much for the V8 it has.

Actually I hope the gen2 is a monster hit so I can get a second gen1. They will never get my 2013!!! I still haven't ruled out a gen2 being my second one but as of now, I plan on a second gen1 or new Bronco if they make it.

No denial here. I agree the ridiculous resale value is temporary. That's not important to me. This isn't a financial decision. I just dropped a boat load of cash into my truck. I probably wouldn't have if they had offered a 5.0 option on the new Raptor.

Overall, I really like the new truck. I just think V6s sounds like crap and I don't like turbo lag. There's a reason there are so few V6 powered vehicles for enthusiasts and why virtually every manufacturer now offers a V8. Have you seen the new Mustang commercial where they put a microphone up to the tail pipe? How many articles have raved about the new GT350's exhaust note? Automotive enthusiasts like exciting engines. People just don't get excited about V6s. Ford knows this. That's why they're piping in fake engine sounds through the speakers.

That's reality.

Was the Torsen diff an option on the older models? From the window stickers I could find it looked like it was just included.

It was standard on all 2012's when I bought mine. That was the first year the Torsen was offered; I'm not sure about following years.

Gen 2 is not SVT? If you listen to the engineer he corrects and does not say SVT

I believe SVT has been replaced by the new "Ford Performance" unit.

Why would I want to sell my truck when I can just buy a second? Plus V8 is what a truck should have regardless. If they can do great things with a TTV6 then do even greater things with a ******* V8. I'll buy a 2018/19 Raptor but holding my breathe for the bigger engine. I will not purchase one at the expense of selling the OG Gen 1 Raptor from which your dream truck was built thanks to our money we invested to make them better. Ford took just about everything we have done to our Gen 1 Raptors and just made the Gen 2. My truck is already modified past anything the new truck will be so keep knocking it.

Our pride as you call it is showing Ford how to make the Raptor better. You're welcome. Two things I don't give a shit about, resell value and MPG's. A stock Ford Raptor can run the desert at 90-100mph easy I know I have done it several times. The limiter will stop you at about 102 anyway and anything beyond that you should have a cage or your stupid. Lastly, people have been driving trucks in sand snow and mud for ******* ever without all the gay little nannies. All these modes are for people who don't know how to drive.

Amen. I'd rather have a manual transfer case and manual locking hubs that don't break.
