Your wife's still the man of the house, huh?

More personal attacks huh?

Anyways theres nothing wrong with an incredibly smart and dedicated wife that kicks ass at what she does. Should she stay at home and make sammiches instead? Stop being jealous and move on.

I can relate to this whole V8 Raptor vs. ecoboost Raptor pissing contest.

I had been driving a Crown Vic at work for 9 years. My first older Crown Vic still had the 5.0L and it rumbled. Over the years, Ford kept 'dumbing down' the engine to the point my 2009 Crown Vic had like 230 hp and was somethin like a 4.7L. The 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor came along and while the technology was top notch, everyone was not happy about 'just a whiny V6' powering our police cruisers. The first time I heard one of these V6 Interceptors get the hammer dropped, I was less than impressed. It sounded just like your typical V6. Everyone wanted to keep their growling, rumble of the V8 Crown Vic.

So I'm one of the first to get one of these V6 squads stuck onto a Ford Taurus platform. After a few days, I have to punch it and this little bitch pushes me back in my seat. Now don't get me wrong, it sounded like a V6 so there was no comparison in sound. But the other guy in the Crown Vic following me to the call was left playing catch up in a huge way.

Now everyone who is still driving a Crown are waiting with baited breath to get into one of these. So I know it's a large sticking point with a lot of us SVT owners that the Ford Performance Raptor will 'only have' a Ecoboost powering it. But I'm willing to bet it will grow on a lot of people once these things hit the dirt/sand/street and get feedback from real owners.

I still believe the SVT Raptor will be highly sought after and those who decide to keep theirs could have a true collectors truck in about 20 years. It will always be the 'Original' Raptor.
You drive on the streets, at times at high speed, and everything is good.
Just driving down the highway in a TTV6 Raptor is good.
But the places I go any forced induction engine will get heat soaked and the engine computer will retard the engine until you have nothing but a low compression retarded 3.5L V6.
And there will be no torque and no horsepower!

Bro, in case you weren't aware, Europe has a lot of displacement restrictions, both for the consumer market and in racing classes. That's how the completely bogus concept of horsepower per liter was developed. When you're bringing a knife to a gun fight, does it matter how efficient the knife is?

Ford is developing the 3.5 to make a run at Le Mans because that's what the class rules dictate. There's no other reason to choose a V6 (no one else does for a real car or truck). Unless you're shopping for a Honda Accord or a "family crap hauler", that is.

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read. You are really upping your game.

No, the difference between me and you is that I'm not a ****** bag.

I know you aren't that bright so here's a dose of reality. Ford, Dodge, Chevy and even Toyota and Nissan sell A LOT of full sized trucks with V8s. Furthermore, very, very few cars/trucks aimed at enthusiasts use turbo V6s.

Want to try again?

Dude, The above is a little stalkerish. I suggest you're fixation be placed elsewhere. Go drive your Gen I with the V8. That should put a smile on your face.

"you're fixation"? Did you mean "your"?

And you're right about one thing, driving my truck always puts a smile on my face.

How about yours?

I'm posting in the '17 board about all the great improvements the new Gen II has over the Gen I. How am I a troll? Now if I were posting in one of the old Gen I boards you may have a point.

Speculation at best. I'm sure it'll be a great package once it's available. They've already quoted some great features. I wouldn't right if off as the Gen II is going to be better.

You mean the great improvements that came about because of the R&D the members of this forum did, right?

And you're a troll because you don't know anything about Raptors, but you came here to tell people who actually know about Raptors how they should think about Raptors.

You mean "write" it off, right?

Who's speculating again? lol

Just FYI, several twin turbo trucks (including EB trucks) have lit themselves on fire offroad. So there's a dose of reality. We actually know this because we actually know about Raptors.

When we want to know about out of date fad mustangs maybe we'll come ask for your opinion. lol

You guys use the trucks Ford made. Unless you work for Ford you guys have nothing to do with the development of the Raptor, and certainly not the new one as everyone who's trolling this board seems to hate it. You know about the old Raptor. I'm interested in the all new Gen I Raptor with the more powerful Ecoboost engine. And this is the '17 board which is the best place to talk about it. It's not my fault you don't care for it.

Yes I meant "write" it off. Thank you for the correction.

I have no doubt that Ford had issues with the 6.2 when they were testing it as well.
