Tesla and Rivian are just pickups. Not built for Off Road, so not competition for the Raptor, besides the range will be horrible.

Rivian is specifically built for offroad, and talks about a range of 400+. It makes more sense for electric to target more of an offroad setup since they are horrible with towing. I would agree that they are not exactly Raptor competitors though as they are going to target non-truck owners primarily.

if the V8 is a limited release, not sure there will be too much of a market for tunes.

The same engine is already modified well past 1000 HP in the Mustang. It's a supercharged mod motor. Again- not some exotic piece of machinery. Factory supercharged Fords? Cake for any tuner.

E85, pulleys and huge injectors will get you there. Probably 8 MPG when you are having fun, but it'll get you 1000+.

Absolutely, the Rivian is targeting the FX4 offroad crowd, not really people shopping for a Raptor. Its a great looking truck, looks to have gobs of features that would be nice for a bit of backcountry exploring, but at the end of the day its still just a normal 4wd truck with the same limitations as any other standard truck. I wouldn't take one out to Glamis and hit the dunes... but maybe it can tow my canam!

I meant the tt hybrid may be more “tuneable” than the SC V8 not other way around, that being said - anyone w/ knowledge effort & a dyno should be able to tune the V8 SC too

Tunes should be interesting considering the OTA updates the new platform will be using.

Since I know I'll mod any vehicle I own, I'd rather work with a turbo platform than NA (assuming they don't completely lock owners out of the ECU).

I wonder what the weight difference between the two will be.
