I hear that. We are building right now. Our range alone is over 6 grand. The vent for it was like $1200

That shit gets expensive...that's for sure. If you have a certain budget to stick to it can get tough when you see all the upgrades you can upgrade to.

Let me guess...Viking Range? hahah

When we redid our kitchen back in summer '03 our hood was around $1500...but it is the focal point of the kitchen and well worth the money in my opinion.

And I hear ya on the old farts, us young guns will be there too!

No. We planned on viking but went with a GE Professional series 48". Its like a viking has some things that viking doesn't.
