I don't think it will last long - plus it's petroleum based and will likely breakdown the rubber. Silicone grease is the ticket and it lasts a long time.Any reason the old reliable Vaseline will not work? Just curious...

My silicone grease arrived from Amazon today. I have not opened or even looked at my Sunroof in many months, so what is the best way to get it open without breaking anything to apply the silicone? I know I am supposed to vent it first before opening all the way, but are there any other suggestion to avoid a trip to the dealer? (Ie. Let it heat up in the sun, keep it cold in my garage, etc?)
Gently push up on the front glass panel with one hand, and actuate the vent position button with the other. Once it’s raised, clean off the rubber and lube it. Lower the glass, and raise again to the vent position, this time without assisting. If it lifts smoothly, without a lot of drama / noise, lower and send the glass to the rear.
Awesome, thank you!
