The Pano roof is a lot of fun and I like the amount of light it lets in, just hope it doesn't break like they all do over time. Keep the seals lubed up every 6 months and you should be fine. Ford does not make very good sunroofs as in too many plastic pieces. Subaru/ Honda uses metal frames and metal guide rails on their sunroofs.

Yep. It's night and day with it exposed or covered inside the cab. Absolutely love it, would never not have it in any vehicle. 10 months out of the year I leave the shade back, then in Summer I close it. Best of both worlds.

And it's nice to use the vent feature just to clear out the cab without putting windows down.

Bottom line the vast majority of people never have a problem with them, but yeah... some do. But the benefits FAR outweigh that risk, and a little basic maintenance and you're good to go anyways.

This is all especially true with the Pano roof... man that thing is cool. Passengers in the backseat love it, and it just gives the vehicle a more upscale feel. Solid roofs are so 1970's. haha ... I kid I kid. Mostly.

If I ordered mine, it would've cost me the 10K upcharge dealers are getting around here.
So by getting it for 2K under, off a dealer lot, I'm 12K ahead. I can deal with the sunroof for that amount of savings.
I'm lucky the dealer I bought from is a good friend. Fully loaded less the sunroof....$63K.

Tell you what this thread should be pinned really. I had to take mine into the dealer about two months ago for a ton of noise coming out of the back of the pano. Definitely narrowed it down to the rear glass but the dealer took a look at it. Advisor called me an hour later and said, "Ya that is OBNOXIOUS". ha. Luckily they didn't have to drop the headliner and replace any tracks like I've seen some guys post on here. They lubed it up and it has been quiet ever since. Will probably buy that paste though and have it on hand and grease frequently to maintain the roof. I wouldn't trade it for the world the pano is SO legit especially rolling around in the mountain ranges on a warm summer night.

My 17 broke 6 times and the entire moon roof was replaced 3 times. One thing I hated about it. The 19 broke at 57 miles, but they fixed it and has been good since.

Un-possible. So sayest the legion of FRF users who swear they have never had a moonroof problem. Ever. The twin panel moon roof problems are as rare as gen 1 problems.

You have me beat for moon roof problems, mine only broke once and had to be readjusted after but because of stealership issues, it took 5 visits.

Yeah ford bought that truck back because or all of the issues. My favorite was a quart of oils would disappear every 1200 miles and they refused to do anything until it was under 1k miles.

How can this sunroof situation not be a recall? It is so widespread. After a couple months of making strange sounds mine finally failed today. Ridiculous! I have had too many vehicles to count all with sunroofs and not one singe issue with one of them. This is an awesome truck but I have had constant issues both large and small. Wish I could just enjoy this thing.
